E-commerce export prospects outside India:
There are many products which can be sold and exported. It could be anything ranging from spices to coffee. It is
not essential to set up a warehouse; rather tie-ups with Indian companies or by creating a website of your own
would serve the purpose. This gives an opportunity to manage a diverse range of products sans any risk and
cost. The step towards starting an e-commerce export business is to find a niche market in India. It could be in
any area ranging from healthcare to herbs, etc. Search the net and find out which product can meet the
requirements of a certain category of customer. Test your product online before taking any risk. The probable risk
in this business is that the good or service may not appeal to the customers or there might not be any sales.

A. Indian Scene: internet banking has gained wide acceptance
internationally. In India also the things are changing fast.
India is on the threshold of a major banking revolution
with the introduction of Net-banking. In year 2002, only
a dozen or so banks are providing services at different
levels. However, almost double those numbers are ready
to make entry. Others may be compelled to follow.
B. Future Scene in India: The Indian banks lag far behind the
international banks in providing online banking. In fact, this
is not possible without creating sufficient infrastructure or
presence of sufficient number of users. The experience of
ICICI Bank Ltd. and HDFC Bank Ltd. shows that the number
of transactions carried out on the Net are very limited.

FDI impacts on Indian e-commerce are still unclear: Muralikrishnan,
eBay India head
November 29, 2011 By Jitendra SinghLeave a Comment
Under new FDI (Foreign DirectInvestment) regulations, retail giants such as Wal-Mart, Carrefour , Amazon and Tesco, longbarred from selling directly to Indian consumers will be permitted to own a majority 51% stake in
joint operations with a local partner. At the same time it is eagerly awaited by national players in
e- commerce in India to witness an indirect impact on the e commerce business.
eBay country head for India Muralikrishnan B, who took over the reins of the eBay portfolio inIndia, Philippines and Malaysia in May 2011 told Techcircle that Internet firms are waiting forclarification from the government on what the new policy means and its impact for online retailing.
Muralikrishnan B
At the outset, everyone has been waiting for FDI in multi-brand retail for a long while. For those
of us in the industry, the first question we asked when we heard of new FDI modification on multi-
brand retail was how it would impact us. But it was silent on implications on e-commerce,
according to Muralikrishnan.

However, Commerce and Industry MinisterAnand Sharma expects fresh investment to generate10 million new jobs over three years, about five to six million of them in logistics alone. On the
question of FDI impact he said that the government will look into the online retail business,
without giving any details as to how the FDI norms will impact e-tailing in India and whether the
new norms are relevant to e-commerce.
Muralikrishnan emphasized that the government should spend time examining e-commerce. This
shows the fact that the government has not recognised the growing presence of e-commerce in
India. It is still a grey area. But they have now taken cognizance of this fact and they will include
e-commerce, which is the right move added Muralikrishnan.
