“create a future product whichuses air, but not for cleaning”

Exploration // After an opportunity was identified rounds of quick sketch work lead to range of

concepts being developed.

Iteration & Testing // Quickly prototyping ideas to highlight issues surrounding

usability and lead to new inights.

Challenges were overcome through countless models and enlightened trial and error.

The concept is an inflatable sling that both cushions and supports an injured arm. When deflated the product is small enough to be kept in a pocket so it is always within reach. In an emergency, where the user is alone, the product is designed to easily be fitted using only one hand.

Step 1 - Use the valve on the strap to inflate.

Step 2 - Place the injured arm in the cushioning and pass the strap through the slit.

Step 3 - Pulling the strap taught closes the brace around the arm and once placed over your head provides further support.

The design is symetrical to fit both right and left arms of all sizes.

It is lined with absorbent strips to deal with any bleeding.

The valve is positioned so that it can easily be topped up withuot raising yourarm.

The cleats ensure the product holds closed if the strap is slackened, they also allows you to vary the pressure on the injury.
