Persian EmpireTurkey, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and parts
of many others
Cyrus the Great559 BC, Cyrus became a chief of a Persian
tribe. He expanded his empire. After capturing Babylon, he immediately
freed all the Hebrews who had been exiled by Nebuchadnezzar. He claimed to have been visited by Yahweh. He advocated for religious tolerance.

The Cyrus CylinderIt is a document written by Cyrus that
describes his conquest in Babylon in 539 BC. “It has been hailed as the world's first
declaration of human rights.” (Sorat, n.d.) Established peace, abolished slave labor,
advocated for religious freedom, helped the people return to their homeland – first documentation of this in history
The Persian StoryThe story of Haman and Esther takes place in
the Persian Empire, in captured Babylon. Xerxes was the king (the 3rd king since Cyrus) and husband to Esther. He came to power in 486 BC.

the reasons for the holiday, why the cookies are shaped as a triangle, and what is the significance of the festival
Sari and Sheila worked on the cookies together to come up with a finished product
Beforehand, discussions of Jewish thought arose and allowed for more insight of the religion for Sheila
Sari further explained in laymen's terms

Learning Outcome 1What constitutes effective interpersonal
communication? Effective interpersonal communication is
getting along with others, being respectful of their beliefs and knowledge, acknowledging the differences and the similarities, and being open-minded
Learning Outcome 2Differentiate healthy from unhealthy interpersonal communication styles
Unhealthy: Not listening to one
anotherBeing uninterestedLack of
communicationBeing judgmental
Healthy: Forming trustBroadening
perspectivesBeing flexibleSmiling and using
other nonverbal communication
Learning Outcome 3How is change initiated and maintained in
interpersonal systems?Change is initiated when people look at other
peoples’ perspectives. By opening your mind to see other viewpoints, all sorts of change can be made. This can be maintained by using effective communication skills and allowing for time to consider different possibilities
Learning Outcome 4What is the importance of effective
communication in larger groups and systems? Having effective communication in large
groups or systems is very important because it fosters tolerance and trust, which helps build relationships. Without that communication, the systems don’t function properly.
