Guest Talk on The Geometry of Mechanisn
Speaker: Ujjwal Rane
B.E. (Mechanical) – University of Mumbai
M. Tech. (Machine Dynamics) – I.I.T. Madras
M.S. (Computer Aided Geometric Design) – Arizona State
University, Tempe, AZ, USA
About the Event:
Education systems may be abstract to academy and applications. Hence they
rely more on analytical solution furnished by software, resulting in expensive
and uneconomic solutions.
This guest talk aimed to break a misconception and chain that held engineers
stationary by yielding simpler, more intuitive solutions to all the real life
engineering problems.
Event Overview:
The event commenced with the introduction of our guest speakers, Mr. Ujjwal Rane. This was followed by a few words from our H.O.D. Dr. K. N. Vijayakumar, who spoke further about Mr. Rane’s vast experience in the field. This event was attended by many professors and H.O.D. himself. In the process of relying more on analytical solutions furnished by software, the visualisation and the insights it gives are missed, leading to serious errors while solving different engineering problems. The talk presented real life engineering problems that were solved with an approach yielding simpler, more intuitive, reliable solution. A doubt solving session concluded the talk and then the event by 1:30 pm.
