  • Its a new year and with it comes new goals, new hopes, and a sense that things can only get better as the seemingly darker end of the rst decade vanishes from the rear view mirror. With every new year comes the hope for greater things, but Snoop Dogg doesnt have to hope because his new year is sure to be lled with heaps of success. Fresh off the release of his tenth album, the Doggfather is taking his career to new heights with his new Creative Chairman position at the resurrected Priority Records. When hes not busy at work, check out how he plays, driving around some truly bespoke rides. Success isnt only reserved for Snoop in the coming year; the Boss Man Rick Ross is taking charge with his new record label, Maybach Music Group and new rap group, Triple Cs. As one of hip-hops elite, Ross near future holds two new albums, one being a collabo eff ort with fellow lyricist Birdman. With huge success comes some sizeable rewards, and Ross is no stranger to gifting himself with ne vehicles and custom cycles, which is why his garage is lled with auto brands we could only dream of driving like his Aston Martin Vanquish S, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Maybach 57 S and Bentley Continental GT. And speaking of a Bentley, feast your eyes on the menacing 2008 Bentley Continental GT Speed from Street Concepts Elite. Nicknamed the Dark Knight, the British import features a matte-black exterior tted with an exclusive widebody Premier 4509 body kit and adorned with carbon ber accents. Its enough to make Bruce Wayne want to trade in his Batmobile. Its always good to come off the Christmas season doing something charitable, which is why you should purchase $10-raffl e tickets to win the stunning TapouT Simply Believe Mask tribute bike that AKA Custom Cycles built to commemorate the loss of an amazing person. All proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish and TPOA Childrens Charitable Foundations. Thanks to Killer Kreations owner Fred Scicoli, the images on the bike jump right at you. But then again, all the bikes he pens with his artistic magic do just that. Read his feature to know more about up-and-coming Picasso of cycles. Dont forget to see how it all went down at the 2009 SEMA show in Sin City this past November, as well as the Miami and L.A. D-Day shows! Since youll want to be riding around in something y, weve also included the 2010 Wheel and Tire Guide. Browse though all the new wheel designs to see which one youll want turn heads with. Heres wishing all of our readers and fans a Happy New Year! Enjoy 64.

    TOPO: THE WIDEBODY KING

DWIGHT HOWARDS KNIGHT XV THE PLATINUM GAME

    D-DAY: BACK IN FULL EFFECT

Dwight Howards Knight XV is HUGE! I can just imagine how it turns heads when he drives it; Ive never seen anything like it. The photo in Issue 63 with it next to an H2 really shows how big the Knight XV is. How does it compare to the H1? That thing must be a terror on the petrol, how much gas does it thing suck up?

    Bruce G.Via e-mail

Youre right, Bruce, the Knight XV Howard has is one monstrous beast. The H2 looks tiny, miniscule, laughably petite next to the Knight XV. Part of the reason for its massiveness is that the Knight XV is built to withstand, well, just about anything. It has a 40 gallon tank thats necesary for the 10,000 pound vehicle to get around, but its also E85 ex-fuel capable so it might not be that bad on fuel cost. Check them out at www.conquestvehicles.com

Thanks for pro ling the man behind the widebody phenomenon. I always hear of Topo and his widebody Challengers and Chargers, but never really knew much about him until I read your cover feature on him in Issue 63. He sounds like a pretty down-to-earth dude whos really humble despite all his recent success. The way he styled the widebody on the Camaro is perfect; he made an already good ride even better. How much does he charge to do a custom build like that, and how do you get in touch with him? Btw, I like the way you did the cover with the Camaro only and D. Howard on the other side!

    Spyder404Via e-mail

Thanks for dropping a line to us Spyder404! Topo is is de nitely a humble and talented automotive trendsetter, which made it a no brainer to feature him and his lastest creation on the cover. Topos a busy man, but if you want to get in touch with the widebody king, send him an e-mail at maffi [email protected] As far as pricing goes, youd have to contact him to nd that out since almost all his projects are one-off builds. One thing for sure is youll be getting your moneys worth!

Good look on the Platinum Motorsport spread! I like the whole story being like a Chess game. These guys are de nitely focused and making moves. Owning their own business like that right out of high school and being only in their mid-20s is just crazy to me! Sounds like they owe much of their success to their father for rst starting the business and giving them something to work with, as well as giving the bros inspiration to do better.

    Manut GillVia e-mail

Thanks for the thumbs up on the Platinum Motorsport spread, Manut! Were always trying to switch things up a bit and the whole Chess theme for their feature was the perfect t. The Keshishyan Brothers approach business in a well thought out and well calculated way, just as in a perfect game of chess. They do have their father to thank for all that they have since he was the one who introduced them to the automotive industry. Theirs is truly an American Dream success story that should inspire us all to follow our dreams to the limits!

Ive been a fan of DUB since the Sprewell issue and remember when you guys rst had D-Day. When I heard that it was coming back this year, I immediately called the old crew and we got our tix! It was an awesome show and all I can say is to bring it back next year! I think outdoor events are just better for car shows, but maybe bring it a little closer to L.A. because the drive to San Bernardino is kinda far.

    J. HerdersonVia e-mail

Thanks for being with us since the beginning, J, and were glad you had a great time at D-Day. This years D-Day was a huge success and we de nitely plan on bringing it back next year! We got a load of awesome feedback on the show and the distance was the only thing people werent digging. Yeah, the drive to San Bernardino is pretty rough, but we wanted to bring it back to where the show rst started! Were deep into the planning stage for next years DUB Show Tour and D-Day events and all the latest information can be found at www.dubshowtour.com

NISSAN LAND GLIDER ELECTRIC TWO-SEATER CONCEPT

    THE ALGAEUS VOLKSWAGEN L1 CONCEPT

INFINITI BRINGING M35 HYBRID INTO PRODUCTION

Unveiled at this years Tokyo Motor Show, the Nissan Land Glider concept is an electric two-seater that is designed to lean as much as 17 degrees when turning corners, similar to a motorcycle. The concepts power source is from two electric motors in the rear that use lithium-ion batteries mounted under the oor. The car also features a car-robotics style crash avoidance system thatll steer it automatically away from other vehicles or obstacles. Interior con guration has passengers sitting in a line, one right behind the other, not next to each

The rst algae-fueled vehicle called the Algaeus made its way across America back in September 2009 as a publicity stunt for the lm Fuel. The car is actually a converted plug-in Prius out tted with a nickel-metal hydride battery and lled with a blend of 5 percent algae and 95 percent gasoline from Sapphire Energy. It took 10 days to go from San Francisco to Washington, DC. Although a 5 percent blend of algae doesnt exactly signal the start of an algae revolution, but it does mean that progress is being made on fuel with great potential

Touted as the most fuel-effi cient automobile in the world, Volkswagens L1 concept uses only 1-liter of gasoline to drive 62 miles, which is about 230 miles per gallon. The tiny engine will only get the car up to about 75 mph and, as such, VW doesnt expect to sell a lot of them. Safety concerns might also keep the car from being a best seller, as well as the limited interior that has the single passenger sitting behind the driver, like in a small airplane. But, since it does have four wheels, it will have to meet all of the normal

In niti will be launching its 2012 M35 hybrid sometime in 2011 and is the companys rst hybrid in its 20-year existence, as well as the cleanest and most economical car in In nitis history. Realizing the high performance/low emissions promise of the recent In niti Essence concept car, the M35 Hybrid has been designed and engineered to add to, not take away from, the driving experience, a key part of any In nitis appeal. The M35 Hybrid is based on the all-new M, which itself picks up styling cues from Essence that made its debut at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show.

other as in traditional two-seaters. Its a concept, but Nissan hints that this two-seat electric car should not be regarded as a mere design study, but theres no immediate plans for commercial production.

and the road trip allowed skeptics to see the progress in action. The main point of the Algaeus is to show the ability of algae to be used in a standard engine. Sapphire Energy plans to produce two million gallons of algae fuel per year for the next two years with hopes of it becoming cost-competitive in the next few years at $60 to $80 a barrel. The company intends to create a 10 percent algae blend for its future commercial products. Sapphire is also producing one million gallons of algae-based jet fuel this year.

safety regulations for cars. VW will continue to release details on the car, but they are pretty sure that it will be produced by 2010.

In nitis hybrid system is a single electric motor/twin clutch arrangement. Innovatively, the rst clutch is installed between the naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 and the electric motor. The M Hybrid can also run solely on its electric motor in certain driving conditions, furthering fuel effi ciency and optimizing energy usage across the widest possible range of driving conditions. Details of driving range, performance and transmission will be released later.

P lace both a sleek, modern new car and a custom old school in front of Snoop, and hands down, hell pick the old school. But you cant be mad at the Doggfather for passing up on a new ride. Thats my nature; thats me, he says about his preference. Im a 70s baby, and Im inspired by my generation cause when I was a kid thats all I saw and it stayed in my mindthats what I get down with. These new sh*t dont move me cause they aint gonna be here long since it changes all the time. Old stuff gets stuck and you cant change it. While his garage does include several new

rides, its his old schools that get his heart pumping. The 1967 Pontiac Parisienne, aka Snoops Lakers ride, that we rst shot in Issue 54 now shows off his favorite NBA team on the outside with a custom mural. I call it the never-seen-it cause you aint never seen one like this before, Snoop explains. The mural on the front got all the greats from the Lakers organization, starting off with my main man, (RIP) Chick Hearn, Magic, Kareem, Kobe, and the greatest Lakers of allme; why not. Besides the mural done by Taz Rock, Snoop upgraded the car to bleed purple and gold with a custom interior,

sound system enclosure in the trunk and even the hydraulic switches got the Lakers treatment. I bought the car in Vancouver when I was doing a video, he continues. It was all white, but I brought it back and had it whipped, dipped and ipped, so I could hit the strip. An old school car makes more noise when you hear it hitting the street opposed to a new car. If you have an old school car that looks good and a new school car, more people are gonna ask you about the old school one cause youll see ve or six people with that new car. Besides his revamped Lakers ride, Snoop also

digs his 1967 Fleetwood Cadillac Snoopdeville with the chandelier light that turns on when you open the front doors. The exterior features a one-of-a-kind paint job with Snoops name so you know who youll be riding with, as well as gold and platinum gold lea ng done by Mike Lamberson, which Mike calls Dragon Lines. Theres also a mural on the trunk with Snoops portrait along with his two sons. The mural is called Me and my doggs, Snoop explains. It symbolizes me and my sons and all of us being together. Its a sweet car. It rides on 16-inch Dayton 100-spoke wire wheels and Vogue tires. But his Cadillac isnt the only thing thats sweet for Snoop; his career is probably even sweeter now since hes recently been named Creative Chairman of the resurrected Priority Records, by parent company EMI Music. Along with the new position, hes released his tenth studio album, Malice N Wonderland, on the famed West Coast label. Snoop will also act as executive producer for a number of new releases in celebration of the labels 25th anniversary. The rst thing I want to accomplish is to execute my record and make sure it comes out with a bangsounds good, feels goodbecause thats the beginning, he says. If I start with my record, its like a foundation. Itll be the bar and the standards we reaching for; once I do that, we can go back and open the vault for all the great music that we created for the West Coast. In the near future, Snoop hopes to re-release those records and put out compilations to mix old music with the new. In a press release, Snoop said that the partnership was a great feeling. Its a new partnership, a new Priority Records, and a new Snoop Dogg: the Creative Chairmanthe Boss Doggthe Dogg Father. The business model

weve developed will bring the musical heritage of groups like N.W.A. to the forefront, he goes on to say. In terms of his latest release, he describes it as being the most potent dose of Snoop Dogg yet! With epic collabs with musics nest like The Dream, Brandy, Soulja Boy, R. Kelly, Pharrell and more, the new album will de nitely feel good, according to Snoop. Its all about a party expression and celebrating whats going on good in your lifefeeling really good in my life right now. Snoop actually handpicked every collabo on the album. I always do my part rst and then listen back and say, Whod make it sound dope, then I reach out. Im like, Nephew, its your uncle Snoop. I gotta heater right now. Can you get down with me? and theyre like, Man, send it to me unc. Im with it. Then thats it! Taking about six months to make, Snoop acknowledges that this album is a bit more mature than his previous ones, but it still depicts the same old Snoop everybody has come to love and adore. The rst half of the album is geared with gritty tracks reminiscent of Snoops

  • earlier days, while the second half gets the party started. When I rst started to put together this record, I had a lot of malice in my heartjust focusing on making hardcore gangsta musicmy mood later lightened and I wanted to make some music that just felt good to me and to the ladies. The established West Coast rapper has successfully fused electro-hop with his classic old-school gangsta sound that keeps fans intrigued and wanting more from the Doggfather. So far, his favorite song on the album is the rst song I Wanna Rock, for its old school with a

new twist qualities. For the new year, expect to see Snoop traveling around the world with DJ Quik, promoting Malice N Wonderland. The most anticipated stop on his tour is merely going overseas to feel the love of international fans. Those fans dont get to see you as much, so basically they embrace you a little bit more, he says. But besides his tour, Snoop will also be working on an upcoming collabo album, Blaze!, with fellow West Coast rapper B-Real. Having been the good friends since theyve been in the rap game, a collabo project was inevitable for the two

lyricists. While neither has gone full speed on the album, Snoop expects to once the tour is done. With a prosperous 2010 ahead of him, Snoop isnt showing signs of slowing down and doesnt let the industry dictate his career moves because he loves what he does. I dont stop and look at my place [within the industry] cause Im still playing the game, he explains. I dont take time to look at the stats of what Ive done; Im too busy trying to create more. [This is] a profession I chose because I was born to do it. I wouldnt want to do nothing else cause I love every damn minute of it.

The 1967 Pontiac Parisienne, aka Snoops Lakers ride, that we rst shot in Issue 54 and now features a Laker greats mural on the hood. • O ne look at the artwork/airbrushing that Fred Sicoli does and for sure youll be blown away at the amazing talent he has. The intricate detail and precise airbrush work he puts into all of his designs is almost unreal, as they seem to pop up from their medium in a 3D way. In one word, they are killer; probably one reason why he named his shop Killer Kreations based out of South Philadelphia. The self-taught artist is blazing the airbrush scene with his superior talents and quickly growing into a hot commodity within the aftermarket/customization scene. Known for his street bike works of art, Sicoli, 35, and his team at Killer Kreations will tackle any truck, rod or chopper that drives through the studio. Theyll also lay their magic on all types of helmets, surfboards, skateboards, snowboards,

and canvases, as well as airbrush murals on the walls of homes and restaurants. All work done at Killer Kreations is produced by Sicoli himself, with work taking as little as 2-3 weeks or as long as 8-10 weeks, depending on the type of project. Having worked on so many projects to date, his most favorite one has to be the green Horror bike that features villainous characters . The colors and the way the characters came out are amazing, he describes. Its so diff erent and unique; de nitely not something youd normally see on the street. While he hasnt met his most challenging request concerning artwork yet, he considers the TapouT Mask memorial bike to be his hardest project to date because of the time constraints he faced to nish it. It was given to me last minute, and I had to have it completely done to show at the 2009 SEMA Show. It was a

Its a 2006 GSXR 1000 thats owned by Mike Kuczynski and features a Voo Doo Industries exhaust, chrome accents, Airide suspension that slams it to the ground, Xtreme Machine 300 rear wheel kit and headlights painted Candy Green by Sicoli. Kuczynski, a huge fan of old horror movies, wanted the bike theme to match his tattoos of horror characters.

The Wolverine bike is a 2007 Suzuki Hayabusa owned by and built by Ken Reid. He customized the rear by adding a tail section from a 08 Busa. It also features a 240

rear wheel and 10-inch extension to the swing arm, an Airide suspension, Machine Gun Purge nitro kit, and hand-painted Candy Red headlights. Reid didnt want a

comic book-like paint job, which is why Sicoli used black and white pictures with a touch red for blood splatter to give the bike an authentic feel to it.

  • very stressful project. With an interest in art brewing since he was a boy, Sicoli, has more than 15 years of airbrushing experience. He always knew his future would involve art and right after high school began his rst artistic business venture doing screen printing and tees. It didnt go so well like I thought it was going to be, so my father suggested that I try doing automotive stuff and artwork for cars, he describes about how he got into his current specialty. One of my dads friends had a motorcycle and I painted it. Everybody loved how it turned out, and I made a lot of money on it. I decided to continue it and just started getting bigger customers from there. Growing into the notable entity that Killer Kreations has become over the past year took some time for Sicoli, who faced a couple of challenges in his career and personal life. There was a real rough period for a whilemy mom passed away and then I lost my previous place to a ood, he says. I was driving around in a van for two years doing work out of it. I was literally

going from spot to spot. It wasnt until two years ago that Sicolis luck had changed and he got back on his feet. Now, he has a TV show in the works, is booked months in advance for his work, has several employees working for him and is expanding the business to include various mediums of art, including his own clothing line. Were trying to reach out to TLC, he explains about the show. Its not going to be about bikes or cars, but more about the artwork, what we do at the shop and our lives. We have a bunch of characters working here, and the clients that come in have stories behind them. Some interesting story he mentioned was of a war veteran who wanted his prosthetic leg airbrushed. While Sicolis main work at the moment involves bikes and other automotive-related things, hed like to transition into doing more canvas and illustration work since thats where his artistic roots lie. I like doing bikes, but Im getting older and they take up a lot of work, he says. The project has to be really intensive for me to get excited about it. The reason he

doesnt get excited for his automotive work as much is because he doesnt get to keep any of it. You put all this time and devotion into it just to see it drive away. I wish I could keep all my pieces of art work, but cant. Its a much better feeling with canvas paintings since I can always have them there if I want. As his reputation expands and his client Rolodex increases, Sicoli wants to grow Killer Kreations as a world renowned shop and become a well recognized artist. Painters all over make things look good and not many people know who we are, he says. I dont want to be in the background anymore. I want to become the rst airbrush guy to have his rst TV show. I have a ton of ideas and its only a matter of time until they become reality.

  • We had Jason (the builder) watch some videos of Charles so he could truly get an understanding of who Charles really was to use for some inspiration for building the bike. Punkass

O n March, 11, 2009, the world lost a remarkable person. The tragic car accident that took the life of TapouT co-founder Charles Mask Lewis Jr. devastated family, friends and fans, custom bike builder, Jason Peterson from AKA Custom Cycles, being one of them. Were a big fan of TapouT, MMA and UFC in general, and when we heard about him passing, we wanted to do something to commemorate his memory, Peterson says. In August, he approached TapouT about building a bike in Masks memory, in which Punkass gave him the green light after he saw renderings Petersons wife, Meredith, designed. Choosing to name it Believe after Masks personal motto Simply Believe, Peterson chose the 2009 Suzuki Hayabusa as the project bike because it provided a large canvas to work with and out tted the Busa with various aftermarket and custom fabricated parts to make it unlike any other bike youd normally see on the streets. To add greater detail to the bike, Peterson contacted Fred Sicoli of Killer Kreations Inc. to do the artwork and really make the bike come alive. I loved doing this bike, Sicoli says. It meant something to me, not just because of the paint job, but because of the dedication that [the TapouT crew] had to their friendship and their devotion to build something out of nothing. So, I put everything I had into that paint job because it reminded me of the struggle that we have here at the shop everyday. It gave me hope that we can do thislike Mask said, Simply Believe. Taking 400-hundred man hours to build, the tribute bike was unveiled at the 2009 SEMA show at DUB LIVE! and will be on display at the 2010 DUB Show Tour and be raffl ed off in August, with

all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish and TPOA Childrens Charitable Foundations. Donating the money toward a childrens charity would be something that Mask would have liked, Peterson comments.

  • F ast rhymes, harmonious choruses and a gangster attitude made Bone Thugs-N-Harmony a sensational hit back when they rst exploded on the rap scene in 1994. The Ohio-based rappers had memorable hits, such as Thuggish Ruggish Bone, For the Love of Money and the genre-crossing The Crossroads, which they won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have had the privilege of being the only artists who have worked with hip-hop legends Eazy-E, 2Pac, Big Pun, and The Notorious B.I.G. while they were still alive. However, the group has had their fair share of hardships; Flesh-N-Bones incarceration and Bizzy Bones expulsion. Now all original ve members are back once again to make up for lost times with their new album, Uni5: The Worlds Enemy.

Doing an album 20 years after having everybody together, whats that feeling like?Wish Bone: Its an amazing feeling. God has blessed us with longevity, and were back in the game working on the next project, bringing a lot of new energy; its Bone Thugs reinvented once again. Glad the fans and everybody are anyticipating and looking forward to what we have to present.

Do you guys still have something to prove after 20 years in the business?Layzie Bone: Not to prove, we still have something to give to the game. We love music and love pleasing our fans because its in our hearts. We proved anything that can be proven in a rap game with our blessing of longevity and were still here. You know, Bizzy is back with the group and Flesh is home from prison, so weve been keeping it moving despite the adversities weve faced. Were still here because we love it.

What was the actual experience of recording together again like?Bizzy Bone: I wouldnt say it was the easiest process in the world. It was a lot

of hard work for us to get all the way back on the same page with so much time away. The chemistry has always been there, but it was more of a challenge than any other album weve ever done because of the time span weve spent apart from each other. Us recording together is the easy part, the hard part was getting to know each other like when were young. Took a lot of thought and calculations to bring our thoughts and heads together to come up with the exact message we wanted to say and bring.

What about this album is going to relate to kids today, or the new generation of hip-hop fans?Layzie Bone: I mean back then, we were dealing with gang violence and pretty much everything thats pertaining to now. We might be more mature, but by us having children and raising ourselves allows us to relate to what pressures these kids are going through. We keep it real like we always do and tell it like it is. Real recognizes real, so if youre really going through a struggle, we talk about that; if you trying to recognize your goals, we talk about that; if youre an asshole, we talk about that. We hit on evey topic and no stone unturned. No the matter age, theres something you can relate to from Bone cuase were real.

Whats it like to be part of the group again, Flesh?Flesh-N-Bone: Wow, it was like a breath of fresh air, new life, to be born again and then some to be out of prison. My thing is to never have to experience anything like that again. Im happy to be here and contribute to the group to make our lives even more successful. I have a lot of aspirations and a lot of goals now that Im back to raise the bar to whatever type of level I can to keep this movement alive. Personally for me, Im back and I do have a lot to prove, and Im going to prove it.

BEERAccording to Wikipedia, beer is the worlds oldest and most widely consumed alcoholic beverage and the third most popular drink overall after water and tea. Give your traditional beer a rest and try some of these new selections that might just be your new favorite beer!

Budweiser American Ale has a robust taste thats full-bodied, but not too heavy or too bitter. Carefully brewed with the highest quality of American ingredients, this rich, amber-colored, all-malt ale delivers a satisfying bold taste with a bright hoppy nish. Its an ale thats distinctly American in character with its balanced and full-bodied nature that itsnt overpowering, complete with a savory nish.

Classi ed as the worlds strongest beer, Samuel Adams Utopias must also be the most expensive, retailing for a suggested retail price of $150. The rich, dark, uncarbonated beer is and de nitely not for the weak. Its brewed in small batches, blended, and aged in the Barrel Room at the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery for up to 16 years, where only 53 barrels live. Because of its higher alcohol, it cannot be sold legally in 13 states. The limited edition 2009 batch of Utopias is bottled in numbered, ceramic brew kettle-shaped decanters.

Introduced originally as seasonal beer Spring Heat Spiced Wheat in 2006, it became a year-round beer as Shock Top in 2007. The Belgian-style wheat ale is brewed with orange, lemon and lime peels and coriander that gives off a refreshing taste.

M iamis big boss is more than living up to his title. With a larger than life attitude, Rick Ross has taken the music industry by storm in 2009 by dropping two highly successful albums, as well as starting his own record label, Maybach Music, which he hopes to grow into one of raps most proli c labels. Ross is no stranger to the pages of DUB. In fact, the last time we spoke to the Boss, he was in the midst of promoting his sophomore venture, Trilla, and riding around town in his (then) signature car, the white-on-white Bimmer. Having outgrown the Bimmer (Ross says that it just became too known for him to ride in since he was often harassed in it), hes moved on to bigger and better things like his Rolls-Royce Phantom and Maybach. Im a Maybach man, Ross answers when asked which of the two luxurious and high-end vehicles he liked most. Using the Phantom more when he likes to be chauff eured around, Ross prefers the Maybach when he feels like aunting. But these are merely two vehicles out of a collection of about 20 rides, not including his bike collection. I couldnt even name them all, Ross says. I usually keep like seven or eight at the house and the others come out of the garage whenever were ready to play with them. There is one car in particular Ross has his mind on. I gotta 78 Thunderbird that I havent even driven yet, he admits when asked which car is his most fav from his arsenal. I cant wait to really play with it a little bit; been out on the road and it was barely completed a while back. Shes waiting on me. Quite satis ed with what he currently owns everything from a Bentley GT, Corvette, Murcielago and Aston Martin Ross hasnt really seen anything on the market he lusts after. Who knows though, I might wake up one day and go f*ck with somethingyou never know. Ross might be nonchalant about his car collection, but when it comes to his career, its all business. Ever since he rst appeared on the scene with his 2006 debut album, Port of Miami, Ross hasnt shown signs of slowing down. The Carol City, Florida native has risen through the ranks of hip-hop with chart-topping hits like The Boss and Here I Am, both off his 2008 Trilla album. Now Ross is sharing the love and his success with his Triple Cs venture. Comprised of himself, Young Breed, Gunplay and Torch, Triple Cs is a collective eff ort to showcase Ross long time friends and their lyrical talents. The team Triple C has been together for more than 10 years. From day one, in all of my projects, Triple Cs was on my albums. Its only right,

the times right, Ross declares. Now its just all about building a brand and taking it worldwide. We put lightning in a bottle and put all our potent music together on [Customs Cars & Cycles]. We got a huge street following and now were taking it to that next level of bringing the product to the masses. Ross describes the sound on the album as raw, edgy street music, with notable collaborations from big names like Game, Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, Bun B and Akon. Besides Ross Triple Cs project, hes also still promoting his Deeper Than Rap album that was released back in March 2009. Growing to be his favorite so far, Ross describes the album as an emotional roller coaster ride. I did some peak anthems, street songs, controversial ones and then turned around and gave them beautiful ones like the one with John Legend [Magni cent].

I gave both sides of the equation on this joint, he says. Theres so much energy in the album; it has a much faster pace and is mosdef a party-street recordthats what makes it my favorite so far. Im making the best music of my career. For everybody that got the album, Im sure they enjoyed it cause it was critically acclaimed, and for the hip-hop lovers that dont have it, youre missing out on a vital piece for your collection. For the album, Ross collaborated with the industrys best, including Kanye West, Nas, Robin Thicke, The-Dream, Ne-Yo, T-Pain, and Lil Wayne. Whenever you can collaborate with an artist that you were a fan of before you became an artist is always big, Ross admits. Working with all of them was a great experience thats opened up doors for my creativity. Ross enhanced creativity already has him thinking ahead to his next album due out sometime this year, where he takes it back to his roots by calling it Te on Don, his rst rap name before he took on the moniker of Freeway Ricky Ross. Its going to eclipse all my other projects, Ross says. Originally a nickname for the infamous John Gotti, Ross rapped under the name in the early-90s and later changed to Rick Ross sometime in 98. But Te on Don isnt the only thing he has coming out in 2010. Ross has been busy recording tracks with Birdman to drop a collabo album, titled H. We just feed the streets. Me being a fan of the hustle the grind, [Birdman and I] have the same attitude and hunger coming from streets. He feels the same about me, you already know. We just went in the studio for the hood, Ross says. He gave me a lot of good advice for things that will help me be a better executive. We cooked up loads of tracks that we want to put out as a treat this summer. The duo has also leaked a few things on the Web to give fans a taste of whats to come.

ROSS ONE-OFF THREE-WHEEL CHOPPER WAS A GIFT FOR HIMSELF ON THE SUCCESS OF HIS DEEPER THAN RAP ALBUM AND SHOWS OFF WHOS THE BOSS WITH TWO FULL-SIZED CAR TIRES IN THE REAR AND A CUSTOM-BUILT MOTOR CHROMED OUT WITH ONE-OF-A-KIND DUAL EXHAUST.

While Ross will never let go of his place in front of a mic, hes gladly embracing his role behind the scenes as the CEO of his Maybach Music Group imprint. I feel like being the boss that I am, it was a natural progression going into ownership of my own label, he says. It was years in the making and called it Maybach Music because of the quality of sound were making. As a fan of all musical genres, Ross plans to incorporate various types of artists on his label besides the usual hip-hop act. Look out for Masspike Miles, an R&B sensation out of Boston, as well as my new Reggae act thats on re by the name of Magazeen. I look for that passion for the music in my artists. Ross also practices what he preaches, having an intense passion for both music and the business that he cant choose which one he likes best. They both go hand-in-hand and have perks. You gotta handle the biz, but you also have to love performing, being in the studio and being creative. They both give me that natural high. While Ross is still growing as a businessman, artist and Boss man, hes sticking to the same formula he started out with. Everybody evolves, he says. Me, Im just tapping into diff erent things musically. Im getting better at doing other things, too, so Im far from my peak. Right now, music and business is all that matters to me.

  • tires were chosen to t the new wide body of the GT Speed and encompass the massive brake system. A combination of gloss-black outer lips, matte-black centers, with red ange accents to match the red Bentley calipers, were matched to ll the fenders justly. Performance wise, the GT Speed is already a beast, but to help it breathe easier and sound a tone meaner, a Fabspeed stainless steel mid exhaust was added and was then tuned by the automotive tech wizards at Singh Autosport to allow performance to be pushed to maximum potential! Inside looks as luxurious and as a Bentley should to the untrained eye. But, what was already a custom handcrafted interior was changed to suit Shawns taste. It was re tted with black Alcantara seat inserts and arm rests with custom MA Carbon interior and a top-notch MA Carbon/ Alcantara steering wheel. In all, more than $135,000 was added in aftermarket parts and customization. Dubbed Dark Knight for obvious reasons, Shawn rst unveiled his SCE built project at this past SEMA Show and received tremendous praise. People go crazy over the Premier 4509 kit and always ask me if its a prototype or which celebrity owns the car, the response is just phenomenal! The same reactions were also shown at the 2009 L.A. Autoshow where it was also showcased. He goes on to say, Its one of the more practical and every-day-driver wide body applications on the market and not the show-car body kits that you cant really drive on. I had several legitimate off ers to purchase the car during the L.A. Autoshow and am seriously considering the options. I just want to enjoy it for a while longer before moving on to my next project.

T he simple statement made famous by Spike Lees alter-ego in early Air Jordan commercials holds true for cars as well the right set of wheels and tires can make it look, perform and represent your individualism better. With todays manufacturers pushing the limits of design and technology, the availability of the perfect combination of wheels and tires has never been better. So whether you push a Scion tC, Ford F-150 or Lamborghini Gallardo your choices are virtually limitless. With that said, the only real problem youll have is making a decision chrome, color-matched, color-way combinations, lip stripe or no lip stripe,

    size and one-two-or three-piece construction.
