The SMART Series ofinstruments represent thelogical solution forseismological dataacquisition: a commondesign for a digitizer,portable recorder, andstrong motion recorder(the all-in-one solution).The traditional differencebetween these instru-ments vanishes, a strongmotion recorder can nowsimultaneously recordcontinuously weak motiondata on a large selectionof media: up to 60 GBhard disks, PCMCIA ATAdisks, IBM microdrives,Compact Flash memory,etc. All units are telemetryready using the CD1.1protocol.Extreme low powerconsumption is supple-mented by a complete setof communication ports:serial, Ethernet, USB2.0,IEEE1394, and optionalIrDA. Theremovable hot-swappable enclosure(see picture) has aUSB2.0 port for very fastdata download.
