The challenge
Drying unit for glass jars
Our customer Lucullus is a producer of a wide range of French specialties for gourmets. The company needed an energy- and cost-effective solution that is capable of drying glass confectionery jars with different sizes and lids. This drying process was done manually, but the customer wanted to change this in order to cut the costs and increase the production capacity. The jars must be dried to allow labeling after they exit the scrubber and are then immediately packed in cardboard boxes.

The different testing results indicate that up to 95% of the water will be removed by the Ronair blower unit.
Our solution
After an extensive testing phase, we have designed an installation that is made up of two separate modules. The fan and filter are located in the smaller module placed on top of the Ronair solution. The lower and larger drying module consists of an air knife to dry the top of the pots and drying plates that take care of the sides. In addition, special nozzles are used to blow off the lid and the bottom of the jar. The built-in belt conveyor system guides the products through the installation so that they can be fully dried in only one passage.
To process the various pot sizes, Our drying module is easily adjustable according to the width and height of the products. Special attention also needed to be paid to the clamping of the small confectionery pots. This is important to maintain the stability of the products during the drying process.
