Cipro is a drug that acts as an antibiotic and fights bacteria within the body.

Indications for use

1. Urinary track infections2.Chronic bacterial prostatitis

3.Lower Respiratory track infections4. Typhoid fever

DOSING: For most infections the recommended oral dose for adults is 250-750 mg (immediate release tablets) every 12 hours or 500-1000 mg (extended release tablets) every 24 hours. The usual intravenous dose is 200-400 mg every 8-12 hours.

Allegra

Allegra is an anti histamine that is used most commonly with patients that have seasonal allergies. It is taken in pill form and has very general side effects if any with most people. It works by blocking the receptor that makes histamine, thus preventing a reaction. Indications for use would include ,1. Itchy eyes2. Runny nose3. Hives4. Sneezing

Dosing

60 mg twice daily, or 180 mg once daily for Adults

The children’s dose is 30mg twice daily

The drug is typically supplied in 60mg form and can be purchased over the counter i.e. without a prescription from a physician

Robitussin

Robitussin works by stimulating receptors in the stomach, causing a reflex increase in the volume of fluid produced in the airways. This in turn loosens mucus and makes it easier to cough up, thereby relieving chest congestion

Dosage

Adults take 10-20 ml every six hours

Children 6-12 take 5 ml every six hours

Not recommended for children under 4 years
