EAGLE CLAW®
Unique design with the combination of engineering and the experience will let you sail to the heart of the nature.
● EAGLE CLAW® is not an ordinary
anchor as known as the others.
● EAGLE CLAW® has been developed
together with experienced sailors
cruising in the Mediterranean and the
Aegean Sea, one of the most
challenging weather conditions in the
world.
● EAGLE CLAW® provides its users to
save time and money by providing
opportunity to drop the anchor even
at desolate places and at harsh
weather conditions.

I - FEATURES:
1- Thanks to the unique design, EAGLE CLAW® sinks by following the path away from the yachts.
Figure - 1
One of the most common situations while anchoring is to wait for the anchor to reach to the bottom of
the sea in front of the yacht. Until that time the sailor needs to keep the yacht steady against the natural
conditions such as heavy wind, stream and waves.
● EAGLE CLAW® sinks to the bottom faster and does not require moving the yacht on rear direction.
2- Unique design shovels on the claw provides EAGLE CLAW® to stab the ground immediately.
Regular anchors have limited contact surfaces to take right position to stab the ground. This situation
makes the sailor to move the yacht on any direction to make sure the anchor cling on anywhere.
Figure – 2
● EAGLE CLAW® does not require any assistive movement for getting ready to stab. When EAGLE
CLAW® reaches to the bottom of the sea, it will stab the ground where it dropped.
3- Do not waste your time to search for a right anchor suitable to the ground. Let your EAGLE CLAW®
to stab any type of ground.

There are mainly three types of grounds in the sea: seaweed, rock, and sand/mud. Every type of ground
has different mechanical properties. Due to that reason, sailors say that “success in anchoring is directly
related to your chance”.
● With your EAGLE CLAW®, you do not need any chance or good wish. Just adjust the unique
mechanism of your EAGLE CLAW®, and let it keep your yacht stable till whenever you would like
to leave.

4- EAGLE CLAW® can be dismantled and moved or stored at any place.
Figure – 5
Since the yachts have limited interior living area, the anchors cannot be stored at such places. Also if there
is a problem with the anchor, it may not be carried on the trunk next to your luggage.
● Despite that regular anchors, EAGLE CLAW® can be dismantled and stored inside yachts, or can be
carried on the trunk of private cars.
5- Depending on the users’ requirements, EAGLE CLAW® can be produced from different types of
materials with the same mechanical performance and quality.

Regular anchors are made off either stainless steel or galvanized steel. However, most of the time
users cannot prefer the material that the manufacturers use.
● EAGLE CLAW® provides its users flexibility to choose material depending on their own economic,
appeal to the eye, or performance criteria. The possible stainless steel materials are; AISI 304, AISI
316, AISI 316L, and galvanized steel materials are S355JR, S355J2. All material certificates will be
delivered to the customers within the product package.
6- Like other DENISSEA® products, every individual EAGLE CLAW® has unique identity number for
traceability purpose.
Table – 1 Identity Number Description
WEIGHT MATERIAL COMODITY PRODUCT SERIAL (YEAR-NO)
EXAMPLE 16 SS316 CM (COMMERCIAL MARINE) EC (EAGLE CLAW) 18-XXXXX
16-SS316-CM-EC-18-00001
Most of the regular anchors in the market do not have any identity number. If the user has a problem with
the anchor and there is no supplier warranty, either the anchor needs to be changed, or make it repaired
by the user since the producers will consider that anchor is used, and the faulty is due to the misuse.
● EAGLE CLAW® is user friendly. If there is something wrong with the product, user can issue a claim.
After downloading the claim form from www.denissea.com webpage, it should be filled by
describing the problem and stating the identity number of the product, then the form should be
sent to [email protected] address. After evaluations will be concluded, customer will be
informed about the possible solutions. In order to make exchange or repairing the product,
depending on the customer’s needs, the product should be sent to DENISSEA by post-paid
shipping. Inside of Turkey, the product will be delivered to the customer within 5 business days
(for outside of Turkey, the lead time may vary 20-30 business days at most. Please get contact with
your supplier or directly to DENISSEA about the actual lead-time).

II – ENGINEERING:
EAGLE CLAW® has a well-balanced design that, after releasing from the windlass, it tends to lift the front
side up, and creates a curve far away from the drop point while falling through the deep.
Each individual EAGLE CLAW® has the same drop curve, since the position of center of gravity and specific
dimensions of each sub-parts. In other words, the following diagram will be applicable for all of the EAGLE
CLAW® products having different weights (the below curve is applicable for “Rocky Ground Setting” and
may vary in different drop positions and/or different tilt settings of the mechanism of product).
Figure – 7
A “16 kg” EAGLE CLAW® can withstand more than 1020 kg of load in average (Table – 2 and Figure – 8).
For example, 50 ft. sail yachts are weighing approximately 10 tons, and generally use 10mm diameter AISI
316L stainless steel chains for anchoring. The rupture point of such chains is limited to 100kN, which is
equal to approximately 1020 kg. This means, instead of a 20-25kg regular anchor (which is suggested for
50 ft. sail yachts) a “16 kg” EAGLE CLAW® can be used for 50 ft. sail yachts with 10mm diameter chains,
but we suggest our users to choose the right anchor for their safety by checking “EAGLE CLAW® Selection
Table” (Table 3).

III – EAGLE CLAW® SELECTION:
Selection of right EAGLE CLAW® for your yacht is crucial due to safety factors. EAGLE CLAW® Selection can
be performed by using the following table, depending on type, length and weight of the yacht.

Not for only EAGLE CLAW®, but also other regular anchors, selection should be made by considering the
net weight of yacht in addition to the length.
Net weight varies for different brands of yachts and directly changes with the additional hull loads, and
the number of crew on the deck. For example, if the gross weight of a 35 ft. sail yacht is written as 6,5 tons
in the license documentation and if the hull will not be filled by heavy goods, then 16 kg EAGLE CLAW® will
show optimum performance. However, if the same sail yacht will be filled by heavy goods, equipment and
there are extra crew on the deck, the decision should be given for 18 kg EAGLE CLAW®.
NOTE: For safety purposes, selection of neither regular anchors nor other DENISSEA® products should not
be performed by the values given in the “EAGLE CLAW® Selection Table”. If there will be any doubt during
the selection of EAGLE CLAW®, please contact us.
