FELICITY BAT’S COSTUMEFELICITY BAT’S COSTUMEYOU WILL NEED:• Long-sleeved black cardigan• Scissors• Gold and black card• Stapler• Tape measure• Ruler• Pencil• Belt• Striped top• Striped socks or tights• Longish black skirt• Black pumps/plimsolls• Black long gloves or you can use woollen gloves

INSTRUCTIONS: 1 Cut the bottom of your long-sleeved cardigan at the front, in a zig zag pattern.

Be careful you don’t cut the back of the cardigan!

2 Cut out two triangles from some black card and staple to the shoulder area of the cardigan to create the pointed shoulder pieces.

3 Put your stripy top, long black skirt and socks or tights on underneath your cardigan.

4 Use your belt to hold the cardigan in place.

5 Wear black pumps or plimsolls and long black gloves to complete your Felicity Bat costume.

FELICITY BAT’S HATYOU WILL NEED:• Feather• Pencil• Tape measure• Ruler• Black card • Black paper• Black tissue paper

• Alternatively you could buy a big black hat from a charity shop

INSTRUCTIONS: 1 Measure the circumference of your head using a tape measure.

2 Cut a piece of black card that is as long as the circumference of your head. The card should be about 4cm wide (or the width of a ruler).

3 Staple this at the end so you have created a ring. Cut another strip in the same dimensions and set it aside for later.

4 To make the brim of the hat, place a dinner plate on some black card and draw around it, to get a good circle shape ready for step 5.

5 Measure a 5cm border around the plate-edge line and cut this out.

6 Place the ring of black card from steps 1–3 on to the centre of the brim and lightly tape it in place with masking tape.

7 To make the dome of the hat, cut the extra strip that you set aside from steps 1–3 in half. Staple one strip across the ring. Staple the other strip in the other direction to make a cross.

8 Place one piece of the tissue paper over the top of the dome and carefully push it up inside the hat.

9 Place the dome of the hat on top of the brim and then turn over. Tape the underside of the hat to secure it in place.

10 Carefully cut out a hole in the card directly under the dome for your head.

11 Glue a feather to the back of the hat. Cover by sticking a black strip of card around the hat to keep it in place.

YOU WILL NEED:• Black dustbin bag• Scissors• Sticky tape

INSTRUCTIONS: 1 Open a clean dustbin bag out fl at. Cut about a quarter of the length of the bag off .

2 Cut the larger piece into three strips, leaving space at the top of the bag – don’t cut right the way to the end.

3 Plait the three strips and tie it at the end.

4 Attach the hair to the inside of the hat with sticky tape.
