VisionTo motivate multicultural High School

students to pursue higher education To mentor them so that they can make the

most out of their future collegiate experience

Target All students who can benefit from such a

program. We target students who aspire to pursue college but are faced with social or economic obstacles.

– Motivate students to become agents of change in their communities• Students will get an opportunity to design

and complete a community service project in their community. They will:

– identify a social problem– analyze factors contributing to the problem– propose potential solutions to the problem– implement the best solution

– Motivate students to pursue higher education

• Provide one-on-one bi-weekly mentoring sessions

• Direct the students to available resources for financial assistance

• Invite UMKC, professional, and community speakers to present to the students during the visits

– Engage students in activities that will stimulate their thinking and promote a positive attitude• Expose the students to topics of interest

that would prepare their mindset before coming to college

• Provide students with the opportunity to participate in cultural, philanthropic, and academic events
