Dr.Ashwin Purohit

He is a dean, faculty of commerce- GLS University. He has more than 35 years of teaching

experience in management institutes of national repute. He is a post graduate in commerce

specializing in cost accounting. He holds Masters in Philosophy in Commerce and a doctorate in

the subject of Financial Management.His academic career started with undergraduate institute B.

J. Vanijya Mahavidhyalaya affiliated to the Sardar Patel University where he was actively

involved in teaching, training, institute building and strategic administration for 29 years. He

held several prestigious academic and administrative positions in Sardar Patel University. He

initiated and coordinated scores of national level seminars and workshops for students as well as

faculty members. As a recognized post-graduate teacher of Sardar Patel University in the faculty

of Management, he headed numerous academic and administrative committees of strategic

importance. He held many positions like treasurer and Secretary of Sardar Patel University Area

Teachers’ Association for many years. He was a Senate Member of Sardar Patel University for

two terms (1987 to 1992 and 1997 to 2002). He was the senate member of Gujarat University

for two terms. He has contributed ten books in different areas of Management which are

extensively used as text or reference books across Universities in Gujarat. He had been the

Principal of H.A. College of Commerce (GLS) for three years. Under his leadership, the college

initiated several new courses and co-curricular & developmental activities which are well taken

by the student community. Since August 2011 he has taken over the S.M. Patel Institute of

Commerce (GLS) as a Principal. Under his leadership the Institute won many academic and non-

academic honours. His teaching and research interest are Financial Management & Corporate

Financial Reporting.Under his guidance, six students are pursuing Ph.d.Under his able

leadership, NAAC accredited and rated among top 50 commerce colleges of India as per India

Today survey, Faculty of Commerce(SMPIC), received many awards like Most trusted

“INDIA’S NO.1 BRAND 2016” in Best Commerce Colleges (Education) Category and Asia’s

Most Trusted Commerce College awarded by IBC,USA.

Dr. Marzun E. Jokhi

With around 2 decades of teaching experience and distinguished academic record, Dr. Jokhi has

a strong academic presence in the field of Accountancy, Taxation and Finance. Dr Jokhi has also

provided his services as a resource person/subject expert at Institute of Chartered Accountants,

Institute of Cost Accountants, Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat and different institutes. He is a

member of the Editorial Team of GLS Voice, Gujarat Law Society’s Monthly newspaper and

PhD Guide at GLS University. He has presented papers at national and international conferences

and has several articles and research publications to his credit. He has two best paper awards at

national conferences to his credit. He is actively involved in editing/writing books for graduate

students.

Dr. Avani A. Shah

With around 15 years of teaching experience, Dr. Avani Shah has been Member of Board of

Studies in English, Department of Gujarat University. She has delivered lectures at Prestigious

Institutes like Nirma, St. Xaviers on Communication Skills and Personality Development. She

has presented Research papers on Feminist Perception on various issues and Novels and English

Drama at state level. She is actively involved in editing/writing books for graduate students.

Rajul Goenka

She has 22 years of teaching experience. Her areas of interest are Accounts, Finance and

management. She has attended various seminars at State and National levels and presented

Research papers. She is a Fine Arts enthusiast and looks after activities like Photography,

Painting, Cartooning, Collage, Rangoli etc. at the Zonal & Inter Zonal youth festivals and other

inter college competitions.

Dr. Bimal Solanki

He has total 22 years of experience. He is with the institute right from its inception in 1999. He

has done his Masters in Commerce and M.Phil in Accountancy. He has done his Ph.D in

Accountancy. He is the in-charge faculty of the Post Graduation department and has successfully

completed a tenure as PG in-charge for 12 years in continuation. He has attended and presented

papers at several seminars and conferences. He has co-authored 7 books on accounts and

management.

Keyur Vohra

He is an Associate Professor in Faculty of Commerce (SMPIC) since 1999. He has been teaching

English and Business Communication at the UG level. He has carried out his M.Phil research in

the field of Translation Studies. Presently he is a Ph.D. scholar, involved in a research project in

the field of ELT. Besides above mentioned, he has several research papers published and

presented at various national and international books, journals and conferences at his credit. In

addition to the academic activities, he is in charge of the extra-curricular activities at the FOC.

Dr. Sneha Kanaiyalal Master

She is associated with Faculty of Commerce since its inception. She has over 19 years of

experience as a faculty in the subjects of Accountancy, Management & Taxation. She is a

Chartered Accountant and brings her professional excellence to nurture the academics in the

institute. She has completed her Ph. D. in Inter Disciplinary topic of “The Assessment of Human

Resource Accounting Application in Educational Institutions of Ahmedabad”. She has attended

many state, national and international seminars and presented papers.

Bhavna Parwani

She has been working since 2000 in the department of Accounts and Commerce department. She

has been teaching at under graduate and post graduate level. She has made presentations and

submitted papers at various state and national seminars and conferences. Her interest area in

research is related to finance and commerce.

Dr. Kruti Shah

She has been working as an Assistant Professor in Accountancy and Commerce in Faculty of

Commerce (SMPIC) since 2002. She worked as member of Governing Body of Women

Development Cell of Gujarat University for the period 2009-2012. She has been member of the

editorial team of GLS Voice, a monthly newspaper run by Gujarat Law Society. She has State,

National, International presentations and publications to her credit. She has received her doctoral

degree in "A Study of XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language) and Its Practices in

Listed Indian Companies"on 27/12/2017.This research on XBRL is a maiden attempt in India to

study its impact in Indian context. She also takes lectures for the students of professional course

CIMA,UK. She visited University of Pardubice, Europe as a research scholar under student

exchange program in the year 2017. She is in charge of Folk Dance activities.

Ms. Aashal Mitren Bhatt

She is an assistant professor having a teaching experience of 15 years in the academic field. She has

presented several research papers at national and international seminars/conferences. Twice she has won

the best paper award at national conferences. She is a member of the editorial board of ‘GLS voice’ a

monthly newspaper of GLS as well as she is a placement co-coordinator and co-coordinator Of

Comprehensive Program on Banking and Insurance.

Dr. Krupa B. Bhatt

She has been working as faculty of commerce and has total 11years of teaching experience. She

has presented papers at state and national level seminars. She is co- author of books at U.G level.

At FOC(SMPIC) , she is the in charge of management club under which students are prepared to

participate in various intercollege state and national level competitions. She undertakes charity

activities ‘Prayas’ during college days every year .She is co-ordinator of study enhancement

programme. She has been appointed as Ph.D supervisor (guide) in GLS University.

Bhumika Ansodaria

She has been working as Assistant Professor in English at Faculty of Commerce(SMPIC) since

last 11 years. She is having 15 years of teaching experience in Academics. She has done her

M.Phil. in English with specialization in Indian English Literature and is presently pursuing her

Ph. D. in Literature and Film from Gujarat University. Her areas of interest in research are

communication skills and ELT(English Language Teaching). She has participated and presented

papers in National and International Seminars. At Faculty of Commerce(SMPIC), she is the co-

ordinator of Bridge Course(a course for enhancing the fluency of Gujarat medium students in

English), Personality Development Workshop, Management Lecture Series, Inter-collegiate

Swami Vivekananda Elocution Competition, Inter-collegiate literary competitions and a member

of PRISM team.

Dr. Gitanjali Rampal

She has been working as Assistant Professor in English since 2001. Currently she is working

with Department of English, Faculty of Commerce (SMPIC), GLS University. She has many

paper presentations and publications to her credit. Her areas of interest are Gender Studies,

Comparative Literature, Eco-criticism and English Language Teaching. She has also been

teaching post graduate students at Department of English, Gujarat University as a visiting

faculty. She is also a theatre enthusiast, has delivered programmes on All India Radio and has

been a professional voice-over artist.

Dr. Bhavin Bhatt

Dr. Bhavin Bhatt has an outstanding academic graph with experience of over a decade in the

field of Accountancy; Taxation; and Management. Dr. Bhavin Bhatt has also provided services

as a resource person/ subject expert at the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He is a

Ph.D. guide at GLS University. He has presented papers at the national and international

conferences and has several articles and research publications to his credit. He has co-authored

many books for graduate students.

Dr. Mala Dani

Dr. Mala Dani has an outstanding Academic record with experience of over a decade in the field

of Accountancy; Taxation; and Auditing. Dr. Mala Dani has also provided services as a resource

person/ subject expert at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Company

Secretaries of India and Direct tax Regional Training Institute (Income tax Department). She is a

Ph.D. guide at GLS University. She has presented papers at the national and international

conferences and has several articles and research publications to her credit. She has co-authored

many books for graduate students.

Vijay R. Tripathi

He is an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Commerce (smpic), Department of Economics. He has

cleared GSET exam (2016). His research focuses on development economics, social networks,

and public finance. He is particularly interested in the social and behavioural aspects of how

individuals interact with credit markets. He has published articles on various aspects of

development economics.

Nimisha Shah

Prof. Nimisha Shah has a strong academic backbone in the field of Statistics and Business

Mathematics Apart from authoring books for graduate programme, Prof. Nimisha Shah is teacher

with the motive of sharing her wide knowledge in the academic arena. She has been teaching

Statistics and Mathematics to elementary, graduation and post gradation students of science and

commerce for eleven years.She has also contributed articles to various journals Statistics and

research.

Prof. Hastimal G. Sagara

academic record, Prof. Sagara has a strong hold in the field of economics. In addition to his

Dr. Dharini S Patel

Hiral Pavak Vyas

She has very good academic background. She has strong command over basic accountancy and

special liking to teach financial management. She teaches management, accountancy at

undergraduate level. She has secured first rank in GPSC examination for class II Gazatted

Accounts Officer examination conducted by the Government of Gujarat in 2006.

Dr. Jyoti M. Thakkar

Prof. Ankit Bhojak

Prof. Ankit Bhojak has a strong academic backbone in the field of Statistics and Business

Dr. Bhavik U. Swadia

He is assistant professor, FOC (S.M.P.I.C.) GLS University, Ahmedabad. He is well known

author of several books for the students of BBA, B.Com ,M.Com, C.A,C.S. He has teaching

experience of more than 17 years. He has written 34 books of National and International level.

He has published 16 papers in National and International Journals. He is member of editorial

board in various Journals. He is Ph.D. Guide at GLS University. He has undertaken various

research project funded by UGC & Private Institutions.

Dr. Devyani Chatterji

She has been working as Assistant Professor in Statistics since 2001. She has to her credit many

research paper and publications. Her areas of interest are Data Analysis, Formulation of

Mathematical Models for Inventory Systems and Applications of Statistics in real life. She is the

Co-ordinator of Statistics Club, Research Group and Quiz Club. She has guided many students in

preparing research projects.

Jaimin Patel

He has done Master in commerce from Gujarat University and is presently pursuing Ph.D. His

areas of interest are Accountancy, Auditing and Taxation. He has presented several research

papers at national and international seminars/conferences. He has attended several seminars in

the area of accountancy. He is member of NSS and Sports committee and looks after various

sports activity.

Prof. Divyang N. Shah

With experience of around 3 years Prof. Divyang Shah has been contributing in the field of

Accountancy and Commerce. He is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountant of India

Apart from this he is actively involved in editing/writing books for graduate students.

Rupa Arjunkumar Pariyani

Her association with Faculty of Commerce (SMPIC) as an Assistant Professor in English

commenced from 2014. She has also worked as a full-time Lecturer in English at M. R. Parikh

Institute of Commerce, GLS for three years. Her areas of interest in research are ELT (English

Language Teaching) and Communication Skills. She is the Content Editor of College Website

and the co-coordinator of Literary Activities at Faculty of Commerce (SMPIC).

Dhwani Sodha

Prof. Dhwani Sodha has a strong academic backbone in the field of English Language and

literature and Communication Skills. Apart from authoring books for graduate programme, Prof.

Dhwani Sodha is teacher with motive of sharing her wide knowledge in the academic arena. She

has been teaching English and Communication Skills to graduation students of commerce for

over ten years. She has also contributed research papers to various journals of English language

and literature.

Anjali Trivedi

She has been working as Assistant Professor in Economics since 2015 with Faculty of

Commerce (SMPIC), GLS University. She is Gold Medalist in M.A. Economics at SP

University. She joined FOC (SMPIC) in 2015. She has also presented papers at State, National

and International level conferences as well as she has to her credit papers published in peer

reviewed journals. At present, she is pursuing her Ph. D. with reference to Financial inclusion of

Urban women. She has cleared GSET examination (2017). She has also done NCC with C-

Certificate. She is in charge of Economics Club.

Prof. Gaurang Prajapati

Experience of having 5 years of Teaching experience in the field of Accountancy , Commerce

and Finance. Currently he is pursuing Ph.D from GLS University since June 2015. He is

involved in editing / writing books for graduate students.

Hiral Jani

Prof. Hiral Jani has a good academic and teaching forte in English and Communication. She is an

educator with intense motive of sharing her wide knowledge in the academic arena. She has been

teaching English language and Communication skills to elementary and graduation students for

six years. She has also contributed articles to various journals and presented research papers in

English Language and Communication Skills.

Prof. Naishal Raval

He had taught Economics at under-graduate (B.com, B.B.A.) and post graduate level (M.com,

M.B.A.) at various self-finance institutes affiliated with Gujarat University and Gujarat

Technological University. He uses to deliver the sessions in conventional way as well as through

PowerPoint presentations. His area of Research is Credit Societies, Micro-finance, and Business

Economics. He had Participated and Presented research papers on various themes at National and

International conference and got published the same in the UGC referred journals with high

impact factors and conference proceedings.
