A festival is an event usually staged by a local community,
which celebrates some unique aspect of that community and
the Festival.
Drama is the specific mode of fiction represented in
performance. The term comes from a Greek word meaning
"action" which is derived from "to do","to act".
Drama played a major role in the life of societies. Comedies
and tragedies are performed in the city as part of an
important civic religious festival.
DRAMA FESTIVAL
Drama has an important role to play in the personal development of our students
WHY TEACH DRAMA ?
To participate in a range of drama activities and to evaluate their own and others' contributions, pupils should be taught to:
use a variety of dramatic conventions to explore ideas, issues, texts and meanings;
use different ways to convey action, character, atmosphere and tension in scripting and performing plays, eg through dialogue, movement, pace.
DRAMA ACTIVITIES
The National Drama Festivals Association (NDFA) was formed in 1964 to encourage and support amateur theatre in all its forms and in particular through the organization of drama festivals in the United Kingdom.
