Trouble Shooting Trouble Shooting –– Sump PumpsSump Pumps

Problem Possible Cause Solution

Unit does not operate.

Sump water level low.

No power.

Float switch is stuck in the open position.

Normal. When water level in the sump rises, the pump will automatically operate. To test this, lift the float upwards, if the pump starts, release the float immediately.

Check power is available to the unit.

Float restricted and this kept the switch open.
