Known for the famous Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue the Genghis Khan Statue Complex is located on the bank of the Tuul River 54 km east of UB. According to legend Genghis Khan found a golden whip at this location and is symbolically pointed east towards his birthplace. At an astonishing 40 meters tall the statue stands atop of the Genghis Khan Statue Complex where visitors can see a replica of the legendary golden whip, sample traditional cuisine of horse meat and potatoes and visit the exhibition hall where visitors can actually walk through the horse statue to see the astonishing views it provides. The statue complex also holds museums with exhibitions relating to the Bronze age and Hunnic archaeological cultures in Mongolia.
