DETAILS FOR THE POST OF TRAINED GRADUATE TEACHER

1) QUALIFICATION

A) Essential

Graduation in relevant subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR Graduation in relevant subject with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.ED) in relevant subject

OR Graduation in relevant subject with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) in relevant subject in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure ) Regulation issued from time to time in this regard.

OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.ED) (relevant subject)

OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year BA/B.SC.ED or B.A.ED./B.Sc.ED (in relevant subject).

Note: Relaxation upto 5% in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved category (i.e) SC.

AND B) Pass in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose.

Common diseases, deficiency diseases and communicable diseases and their prevention. First aid and our health services at village and district level, natural calamities – their causes, impact and steps to reduce the effect, transport and communication – their impact, natural resources-air, water, soil and land (minerals, metals, non-metals), resources and developments; natural resources:- forest and minerals, water resources, rivers, irrigation system and crop pattern. Teaching Skill Test – for assessing the teaching ability of the candidates:- it will inter-alia, include test of communication skills and teaching methodology.

DETAILS FOR THE POST OF SUPERVISOR / NON TECHNICAL (OTHER THAN STORES)

1) QUALIFICATION

Essential: Degree in any subject from a recognised University. Desirable: Should have “O” level certificate as per Department of Electronics Accredition Committee Certificate.

2) AGE : Between 18 and 27 years as on closing date for receipt of application. Relaxable by 10 years for PWD candidates & Departmental candidates are eligible for age relaxation as per rules.

3) SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

a) The examination will consist of written test of three objective type multiple choice question papers conducted in Two Tiers. Paper-I will be conducted in the First Tier and Paper-II & III will be conducted in the Second Tier.

b) After the first tier examination the number of candidates to be called on the basis of merit for the second tier examination shall be in the ration of 1:20 i.e twenty times the number of vacancies.

c) Merit of candidates will be decided on the basis of the total marks scored in the First tier and second tier written examination.

d) Resolution of Tie cases – Tie cases will be resolved by applying one after another, as applicable till the tie is resolved:

B. General awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Policy and Scientific Research.

C. Quantitative Aptitude: The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. DETAILS FOR THE POST OF LOWER DIVISION CLERK

1) QUALIFICATION 1) 12th class or equivalent qualification from a recognised board or University. 2) Skill Test Norms “only on Computers” A typing speed of 35 words per minutes in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on Computer. (35 words per minute and 30 words per minute correspond to 10000 and 500 key depressions per hour or 9000 key depressions per hour on an average of 05 key depressions for each word.)

GENERAL AWARENESS:

Questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. TYPING TEST

1. The typing test will be conducted in English or Hind and candidates while applying for the examination, will have to indicate their option. 2. Candidates opting for English Typing shall have typing speed of 35 words per minute and those opting for Hindi Typing shall have typing speed of 30 words per minute on Computer. (35 words per minute and 30 words per minute correspond to 10500 key depressions per hour or 9000 key depressions per hour respectively. The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the compute of a given text passage in 10 minutes. 3. Visually Handicapped candidates (with 40% disability and above) should be provided with a passage dictators for the typewriting test. The passage dictators will read out the passage to the VH candidates within the allotted time period.

This test will include questions on knowledge of Fire Fighting, operational use of Fire Fighting Equipments, life saving drills, causes of fire etc. NOTE: After the written test the number of candidates to be called on the basis of merit for measurement of physical standard test and endurance test shall be in the ratio of 1:10 i.e 10 times the number of vacancies. For the candidates called after written test the measurement of physical standards will be carried out first. Then only those candidates who qualify in the measurement of physical standards shall be subjected to the endurance test. The measurement of physical standards test and endurance test are of qualifying nature only. Failure in any of these tests shall be failure in the examination. Candidates will be recommended for selection on the basis of their marks or merit in the written examination only.

SYLLABUS :

Question will be aimed at testing the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment around him. Question will also be designed to test knowledge of basic science studied upto 10th Standard and would include such matters of every day observations and experience as may be expected of any educated person.

(B) Quantitative Aptitude (10 Questions)

The candidate will be tested for general mathematics of upto 10th Standard involving number systems, equations in two variables, simple and compound interest, perimeter, area and volume of geometrical figures, direct and inverse proportions, Pythagoras theorem and trigonometry.

(C) NCVT Trade (80 Questions)

Questions from the NCVT Syllabus of relevant trade.

There shall be no interview.

5. MODE OF SELECTION:

(A) The selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit. The selection process will comprise of Written Examination of one paper. The paper will be of “Objective Multiple-choice-Type” of maximum 100 marks and Trade Test (Practical). All eligible candidates will be called for an objective type Written Test. On the basis of merit list based on marks obtained in Written Test, candidates 1.25 times the number of vacancies shall be called for Trade Test (Practical). The Trade Test (Practical) shall be only qualifying in nature without any marks. The final select list shall be based on marks in the Written Test only, the Trade Test (Practical) being qualifying in nature.

(B) In case of tie in the selection process, other things being equal i.e., marks being equal,

(i) The trained Ex-Trade Apprentices of OCF Avadi and sister Ordnance Factories shall be given preference in the order in which they are stated.

(ii) In between the trained Ex-Trade Apprentice of the Ordnance Clothing Factory, Avadi preference shall be given to those who are senior i.e., if two or more Ex-Trade Apprentices secure the same marks, then preference shall be given on the basis of seniority. Seniority of Ex-Trade Apprentices of Ordnance Clothing Factory, Avadi shall be decided on the basis of OFB Letter No.13/8/03-A/HRD dated 15/17.12.2003.

(iii) Similarly, in between the trained Ex-trade apprentices of the sister Ordnance factories preference shall be given to those who are senior as mentioned in column B (ii) above.

(iv) Among the ITI candidates, the merit position will be decided based on the marks / percentage obtained in the NCTVT Examination and if two or more candidates secure same marks in NCTVT Exam, the merit will be decided based on the date of birth.

(C) The General Manager, OCF Avadi reserves the right to fix the minimum qualifying marks for selection at any stage of the test.

(D) The General Manager reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of vacancies in the trade/category as per exigency of Production requirement of the factory.

METHOD OF APPLYING FOR ABOVE POSTS

(i) The candidates who fulfil the requisite qualification as mentioned above have to apply On-Line through website ____________ only after publication of advertisement in Employment News.

(ii) After submitting the on-line application and uploading recent passport size photograph & scanned signature a Unique User ID / Application No. will be generated automatically. This Unique User ID / Application No. can be used for future reference.

(iii) Eligible Persons working in Central / State Government / PSU may apply online, under intimation to their employer and must be in a position to produce No Objection Certificate when demanded.

6 Application fee will be charged to the value of Rs.100/- (Rupees Hundred only) for Group “B” Posts & Rs.50/- (Rupees fifty only) for Group “C” Posts (Both Non- Refundable) drawn in favour of the General Manager, Ordnance Clothing Factory, Avadi. (For each post separate fee is to be remitted). However no fee will be charged for SC/ST candidates, Ex.Serviceman, PWD (Person with Disability) candidates & Women candidates. Three options viz, Online mode, challan mode and DD/IPO mode will be available for making the payment, the candidates can choose any one of the three options.

7 Crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the last date of receipt of on-line application.

8 Candidates having disability of not less than 40% only is eligible to get the benefit of reservation under PH. Disability in following category is acceptable: For the post of TGT - (OA,OL,OAL,BL, B, LV) For the post of Supr/NT(OTS) [OL, BL,OA,OAL,B,LV,HH], For the post of SK-(OA,OL,HH), For the post of FM-(HH), For the post of Durwan-(OA).

9 Resolution of tie cases in general i.e if the method of resolution is not mentioned particularly for any post (Tie cases i.e more than one candidate secure equal marks in the examination, the same will be resolved by applying one after another, as applicable till the tie is resolved) 1 Date of Birth, with older candidate placed higher. 2 Alphabetical order in which the first names of the candidates appear

10 SC/ST candidates attending for exam will be paid only second class Rail/Bus fare for to & fro journey chargeable by the shortest route provided that the fare of first 30 Km in both cases is borne by the candidates. However this concession is not admissible to those SC/ST candidates who are already working in Central/State Government.

11 In case of non-conformity between the Advertisement published in Employment News and local News paper, the advertisement published in the Employment news may be treated as correct.

12 No GPF and DCRG scheme is admissible under Central Govt. w.e.f. 01.01.04. The new Pension Scheme i.e. Defined Contribution Pension Scheme is compulsory for all Central Govt. employees.
