Cracking, Rutting, Potholes, Depression, Patching, Raveling
– distresses were categorized based on the variation in their density and
severity
– Density varying from 0% to 100% while severity being classified as
low, medium and high

Observations drawn from the study
• 25mm SDBC overlay at 2012/2013 was found to be the
optimum solution compared to 50mm BM at 2013/2014.
• The minimum budget required for keeping the all the roads
within the specified threshold level is Rs. 28 million.
• In the budget bound scenario, around 6 km of road length
can be maintained with budget limit of Rs. 10 million and
10.5 km of road length with budget of Rs. 15 million.
• The length of road maintained with budget 10 million in 5
years is 6 km, but only 4.2 km of road can be maintained if
the budget is allocated as 2 million in each year for 5 years.
