How to create high quality aesthetic composite restorations in simple steps

The use of composite restorative materials has been an inevitable part of everyday practice. Most commonly, patients demand a fast, good and an inexpensive restoration. Techniques have been developed which enable the dentists to accomplish the art of creating accurate and visually pleasing restorations with the use of composites. These materials can help you attain superior aesthetics and long lasting restorations.

In this workshop, you will learn how to do a class IV cavity restoration in simple and doable steps – with hints and tips on how to do layering in an efficient workflow. The importance of being able to predict the final outcome is an essential part of the treatment. The suggested technique will enable you to maximize your material and see that natural tooth aesthetics can be created with direct composite fillings easily and in a shorter time.

Advance in Endodontics - 'TF -Adaptive System

By Dr. Alex Chan

This 1-Day hands-on course is designed for the general practitioners to improve their daily endodontic skills. Topics will include diagnosis, case selection, latest endodontic instrumentation, shaping and cleaning, packing of the root canal system in three dimensions with warm obturation techniques. The seminar is followed by a hands-on course, which provides the participants with opportunity to learn about the contemporary endodontic treatment using the most advanced rotary NiTi file system – 'TF-Adaptive' (Sybronendo, USA) and optimal obturation of root canals with warm compaction techniques. The new 'TF-Adaptive System' allows the Twisted File to adjust to the intra-canal torsional forces depending on the amount of pressure placed on the file, the file will be in either a rotary or reciprocation motion depending on the situation. It results in excellent debris removal and less chance of file pull-in and file separation.

This program will be invaluable for clinicians serious about making endodontics an important and growing part of their practice.

Important Information for the Hands-on Course:

Each workstation is equipped with armamentarium and supplies necessary to participate fully, but participant can bring along their magnifying loupes and instruments for practice.

Participants need to prepare some extracted human teeth for the workshop, the detail is as follows:2 premolars, 2 molars (Do not mount or embed them in any medium such as dental stone)No previous root canal treatmentMature apicesNormal curvature, optimal length (about 18-21 mm)Access cavity preparedTwo pre-operative radiographs (at both bucco-lingual & mesio-distal directions) should be taken

Laser Dentistry - All you wanted to know about Diode Dental Laser…but were afraid to ask.

By Dr David Cox

This presentation will supply the basic science and safety requirements for operation of diode lasers as well as laser types applications and clinical cases. “A dentist should voluntarily embark upon a wide range one research into lasers not only to become proficient in laser use but to make an informed decision about the best type of laser to use. The aim of the lecture and hands on will be for participants to confidently identify the laser type and applications they can use in their practice on a daily basis following the course and put this knowledge into use following the course.
