CAREER IN NCC

Lt K T Tamilmani was granted Direct Commission (on the merit of NCC “C” Certificate

Holder) as Associate NCC Officer on 19 September, 2013 by the Government of India.

He conducted several training activities and special programmes with a view to cultivating

the spirit of adventure, societal concern and leadership qualities among the cadets.

He served as the Contingent Associate NCC Officer of the Republic Day Celebrations

Contingent of Tamilnadu, Pondicherry and Andaman Directorate held at New Delhi during

Dec 2007 – Jan 2008. He was commended by the Excellency Governor of Tamilnadu

Shri.Surjeet Singh Barnala for his tireless efforts for the cadets of TN, P & A NCC

Directorate which secured third place among the Sixteen Directorates in 2008.

Additional Responsibilities 1. National Cadet Crops—Caretaker of the N.C.C. unit from 28th July 2003 and assumed charge as the Company Commander with effect from 19th September, 2003 to September 2009. 2. National Service Scheme – served as the Programme Officer during 1994 to 1996. 3. Youth Red Cross – Co-ordinator from July 2000 to August, 2002. 4. Served as the Deputy Warden of Nehru Memorial College Hostel for Men for Six years from 1994 to 2000. 5. Served as the Staff-in-charge of Fine Arts Association of Nehru Memorial College for 5 years from 1996 to 2001. 6. Served as Head of the Department of English, Nehru Memorial College for 10 years from 17 August, 2007 to 31 June, 2017. 7. Served as the Co-Ordinator of ACEM Meditation from 2015 to 2017 (An MoU was signed between the Department of English and ACEM Foundation, Norway on 11 August, 2015.) 8. Served as the Coordinator of the Steering Committee during the NAAC Peer Team Visit to the College during September 2012. 9. Served as the Co-Coordinator of UGC Autonomous Review Committee Visit to the College during March 2013. 9. Served as the Chairman of the Board of Studies in English --- PG programme of Nehru Memorial College from 01 July, 2014 to 30June, 2016. 10.Served as Co-Ordinator of Employability Skills Training from November, 2016 to June 2017 (An MoU was signed between the Department of English and Foundation for CSR @ Redington on 7 November, 2016) 11. Served as the Coordinator of the UGC-Sponsored 28 days Orientation Programme for College and University Teachers organized by HRD Centre of Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli-620 024 during May-June, 2016. 12. Serving as the Member Secretary of the Academic Council of Nehru Memorial College, Puthanampatti since Feb. 2018. 13.
