At the age of 18, Warren graduated from Harvard University, studying medicine.

After graduating, he taught in a school in Roxbury for two years.

After teaching, he began his medical practice in Boston.

In 1764, Warren married Elizabeth Hooten.

They had three children, Mary, Joseph, and Elizabeth Warren.

During the Stamp Act and the Townshend Act, Dr. Warren published articles in The Boston Gazette under the signature, “A True Patriot”.

In June 1775, Warren was chosen second major-general, after Artemis Ward, but served as a volunteer in the Battle of Bunker Hill.

Dr. Warren died in the Battle of Bunker Hill. He was struck in the head with a musket ball and instantly died.

His remains are buried in Forest Hills cemetery in Boston.

Warren was one of the most influential leaders of the extreme Whig section in Massachusetts.
