IT WEEK CELEBRATION

In the past few decades there has been a revolution in

computing and communications and all indications are that

technological progress and use of information technology

will continue at a rapid pace so it can be said that the com-

puter era is here and it cannot be debated.

Albert Einstein says ―Imagination is more important than

knowledge, for knowledge is limited and imagination em-

braces the entire world stimulating progress.‖ So, from 9

July to 17 July 2021 we embarked on the IT Week journey

unraveling new vistas and unlocking greater opportunities.

INAUGRATION OF THE IT WEEK

―...Creativity is the need of the hour. The present times are testimony to the fact. Our lives have undergone

a sea change and had it not been for technology and in particular the IT sector, life would have come to a

standstill due to the pandemic.

It is important to have ideas, maybe some of them are not successful but it is better than not having any

ideas at all, for the fear of going wrong. Do not attach yourself to only the result , the experience gained ,

is true learning , that is never forgotten . Remember, most of the scientific inventions have been the result

of accidental processes that eventually proved to be successful .

So celebrate the IT week while you participate enthusiastically without the fear of failure.‖

The Principal’s Address

3

To enhance the intellectual skills of the students, videos on several IT Topics were shown to the students.

1. Parts and uses of computers— Varieties of Software and hardware. Computers are used at homes,

schools, offices, movie making, space technology, etc.

2. About Google and its worldwide services—It enables you to search information about the world,

including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly

what you're looking. Services include Gmail, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, Google Docs Editors,

Google Sites, Google Meet, Google Chat, Google Cloud Search, and more.

3. Evolution of Windows—Microsoft Windows was announced by Bill Gates on November 10,

1983. Microsoft introduced Windows as a graphical user interface for MS-DOS.

4. Cyber crime and security—Cybercrime is any criminal activity that involves a computer, networked

device or a network. Cyber security is the practice of defending computers, servers, mobile devices,

electronic systems, networks, and data from malicious attack.

5. Concept of Ethical Hacking—Ethical hacking involves an authorized attempt to gain unauthorized ac-

cess to a computer system, application, or data. Also known as ―white hats,‖ ethical hackers are security

experts that perform these assessments.

Trees are the earth’s life supportive network. They support and are essential for life on earth. Other than

giving oxygen, trees additionally work as common safeguards of noise pollution. Planting trees is the ideal

approach to support nature. When trees are planted, the biodiversity of that zone is improved. Trees help

the development of species and prevent their extinction.

Today, more individuals understand the advantage of tree plantation. People are taking up tree plantation

as their hobby. People are planting trees in their neighborhood, and reassuring others to do as such.

Younger students are likewise planting trees with the assistance of their parents at home.

The least we can do is plant a large number of trees to provide nature what we have taken from it. We

can’t reimburse in full, yet however small the initiative the effort is appreciated.

And our efforts bore fruit...

A small initiative at school ...

FLIPPED CLASSROOM

A flipped classroom is a type of blended learning where students are introduced to content at home and

practice working, through it at school. This is the reverse of the more common practice of introducing a

new content at school, then assigning homework and projects to completed by the students independently

at home.

The concept behind the flipped classroom is to rethink when students have access to the resources they

need most. In this blended learning approach, face-to-face interaction is mixed with independent study–

usually via technology. One of our Science teachers, Ms. Radha Desai participated in a DPSS Webinar

conducted this month. She trained the teachers regarding the concept and importance and also executed this

with the students.

I entered the school hesitant and unsure of the challenges that awaited me. I

left hesitant, but well aware and prepared for the challenges that knocked at

my doorstep. The joys of entering adulthood are mildly tarnished by the sor-

row of leaving behind the corridors of school. Yet, that has been my greatest

learning here - life is all about moving forward. It is not the memories of the

text books that we carry along with us, but the best times of our lives that we

have spent with our friends and all those learnings and principles instilled in

us by our doting teachers.

My deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to all my teachers who have shaped

me into who I am today and to Delhi Public School for helping each one of us

be what we are and proudly say, I am what I am and I am ready to proceed on

my chosen path. Your constant faith in us has taught us to believe in our self

and our astounding capabilities. It is with this conviction and confidence that

I stepped out of the portals of DPS. I thank my school for everything I am

today and everything I will be in the future.
