Mark’s textual interpretation: I see here a picture of children listening to, apparently, an army personnel who is standing beside a helicopter. The rotor blade of the chopper seems to “bridge” the children and the army personnel during their discussion. I thought of “learning” as the underlying theme for this start up photo of Eric. So I replied with an image I took of a child being guided by his teacher with his handwriting at a special shelter for youths. Yes, the child is too old for it because he dropped out of school.

Eric’s textual interpretation: In this photo, it looks that a parent is assisting a kid to write but the child seams to be over age for it.

Mark’s textual interpretation: As Eric and I go along with our dia-logic, I got from him a photo of two elderly watching a helicopter that looks like had just taken off the ground (based on the angle of the chopper’s tail). If I am going to connect this image with Eric’s first photo, I see an underlying message of “people’s dream can take off and reach places through education.” And my reply to this image is an aerial photo I took on board a helicopter en route to General Santos City in Mindanao Island. Through education, one gets to see the world in different ways, discover patterns of opportunities and find pathways to growth.

Eric’s textual interpretation: This picture seams to be of a large-scale commercial pineapple plantation in a relatively dry land area.

Mark’s textual interpretation: But then, just like in any form of human needs like food and education, one has to endure hardships and struggles to have it or to get things done. Complications arise that somehow affect the person from satisfying such needs. With these in mind, I thought of replying with the concluding photo that I took in the area of Pantabangan Dam in Central Luzon. In spite of it all, just walk on by, as my photo seems to suggest.

Eric’s textual interpretation: This photo shows a local person and his kid walking over a suspended foot bridge in a remote rural hilly area. It seams the are receive a lot of rain but by the time this picture was taken it was a dry season considering the level of water in the river. It seams that there is no much human activity around hence can see that the river is not polluted.
