And talk about an ideal backdrop! The view is spectacular all day, every day, but particularly so when the skies color dramatically for each evening’s sunset.

Blackjack Springs TrailExplore the Blackjack Springs Wilderness, a 5,500-
acre natural area located in the Nicolet National Forest.
This 4-mile hiking trail is ideal for backpacking,
wildlife observation, and wilderness camping. Looking to get off-trail? This is the place to do so!
Vista Lake Bike RoutesExplore three loops of forested bike routes, ranging
from 2.9-miles to 13.1-miles. The terrain ranges from
gently rolling to hilly, and from packed sand to gravel. Perfect for a fall ride or to break in your new fat bike!
Conover-Phelps Walking and Biking Trail
This 11-mile trail connects the Phelps downtown area to the Conover Community
Park, with the first 3.2 miles completed and
surfaced with hard compact stone. The finished surfaced trail will include the stretch known as the Rail Trail,
running along the old railroad
grade. This 7.2-mile segment is
open for mountain biking or hiking. With some wetland areas, this is another great trail for bird-watching.

Spectacle Lake - Kentuck Lake Trail
This 2.5-mile hiking trail, connecting two campgrounds, takes you through
a colorful deciduous forest to aromatic
coniferous forests and over several streams. You’ll find water, restrooms, and lakes at each end of the trail,
and a sandy beach swimming
area at Spectacle Lake.
