HELEN WRIGHT SCHOLARSHIPSThe WFAA has awarded scholarships to
talented students since 1964.
The first scholarship winner was David Huffman from Woodstock High School who was awarded $100. On April 28, 2016 we awarded $10,000 to ten remarkable seniors
from throughout McHenry County.
In 1995, the WFAA named the scholarship for Helen Wright in honor of her devotion to
Woodstock Fine Arts Association, the Woodstock Opera House, and her
energetic support for the arts in McHenry County.
The ten students honored this year are a moving reflection of the importance Helen Wright placed on the
arts as an essential part of life.
