On Wednesdays the pistes may be used by “First Track” participants from 7.30 am.
Exceptions in SerfausThe Mittel, Süd and Wald downhill runs are closed from 6.00 pm (except on Wednesdays: Mittel downhill and tobogganing run are closed 5.00 pm – 6.00 pm, open from 6.00 pm – 11.30 pm for “Adventure Night”).
Exceptions in FissMöseralm downhill run open from 6.00 pm – 11.00 pm for nighttime skiing and from 6.00 pm – 10.00 pm on toboggan-ing evenings.
Piste maintenance and snow-grooming vehicles with winch cablesWe occasionally need to deploy piste maintenance machines on the slopes when they are still being used by skiers. Please ensure you keep a safe distance from such
machines in the interests of your own safety. Please heed acoustic and visual warning signals at all times! After pistes close at the end of the day winch cables from piste maintenance devices present a potential hazard. The cable car operators accept no liability for accidents! Please note that in the case of persistent snowfall, groomed slopes may once again become snowed over prior to opening so that they may not always be completely frozen. As a result, moguls and piles of snow may form shortly after the ski slopes are in use.
Closure of pistes and avalanche blastingFor safety reasons, avalanche blasting may take place if large amounts of fresh snow have fallen. Detonations usu-ally take place in the early hours before the start of regular ski operations. If there is a particularly large volume of new snow, avalanche blasting may also have to take place while the slopes are being used by skiers. The affected areas are then closed for skiing! Watch out for information at stations and terminals!
Backcountry skiingIf you intend to go skiing outside the secured area you are advised in the interests of your own safety to find out about the risk of avalanches, any planned avalanche blasting and weather conditions from the cable car operators.
TobogganingPlease do not use the ski slopes. Use the tobogganing run or the signposted tobogganing slopes.
Skiing accidentsPlease report the type and location of the accident to the nearest lift station or terminal, or contact the mountain rescue services directly.
Inspections and fraudulent useAdmission checks are carried out at the cable car valley terminals using automatic scanners. Please follow the instructions of the staff and use the ticket inspection machines properly. On-the-spot inspections take place in the ski area. Therefore, you should always carry your ski pass with you. Any incident of fraudulent use or bypassing of the scanners shall result in immediate confiscation of the ski pass. We reserve the right to report the offence to the police. Anyone caught in the inspection zones without a valid ski pass shall be required to pay a fine set at twice the all-day ticket rate. A receipt showing that the fine has been paid can be used as a ski pass on the same day. Please note that under the Austrian railways liability act, only customers with a valid ski pass are covered for insurance purposes. Do not buy any ski passes from unauthorised vendors – such ski passes may be blocked! Furthermore, you are committing an offence by doing so! Please note that, for verification purposes, photographs are taken at all inspection points in the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis ski area.

NEWS.THE SONNENBURG SHINES IN NEW SPLENDOUR Rustic yet modern with plenty of wood and stone – the Sonnenburg has been completely modernised and offers new seating for approx. 300 people in the indoor area and in the comfortably furnished, heated Sonnenlounge, which can be opened in good weather. A particular highlight is the Kids-Loft, which consists of two areas: a party room that can be specially reserved for children’s birthday parties, and Bertas Alm, the new play area. Another innovative feature is the recently designed Bertas Ski TV. Additional cameras provide new perspectives. Everything going on at Bertas Kinderland and Bertas Alm, the play area, is transmitted live onto large screens in the restaurant. An escalator from Bertas Kinderland makes access easier to the new Sonnenburg.
BERTAS HOME RUNA new blue piste with the catchy name Bertas Home Run leads from Bertas Kinderland to Fiss. Children can now ski directly from Bertas Kinder-land down to Fiss.
BERTAS KINDERVILLASuccess on the ski courses and great entertainment for kids – Fiss-Ladis Ski School is setting new standards with the construction of the three-storey building at the heart of Bertas Kinderland. The cen-trepiece is the big room for entertainment and shows, where diverse events take place. In Berta’s snow adventure room − an absolute novelty − fantastic, varied care is provided for children from only two years of age. An adventure shop with a service centre, a modern stage for shows in the outdoor area, a family WC, baby changing rooms and much more round off this great facility.
PISTE IMPROVEMENTS – FROMMES ENTRANCEThe new entrance to the longest piste in the region, the popular Frommesabfahrt, makes a big difference for guests. For skiers coming from the Schöngampbahn or the Schönjöchllift, the ground
now drops away evenly, and the “push to Frommes” is no longer necessary − a considerable improve-ment to the comfort of all winter-sports lovers.
SFL TV WILL BE BROADCAST IN HDA new technical feature is that our eight live panoramic images will be broadcast in HD via our cable network from the coming winter season.
SCHNEISENFEGER FAMILY TOBOGGAN RUNThe new family “Schneisenfeger”, a summer and winter toboggan run, provides lots of sledging fun for the whole family. The route extends from the Alpkopf to Högsee – the entrance is in an old saw mill, right by the Seealm Hög Restaurant. From here, you are pulled up on the Schneisenfeger to the Alpkopf. On the ascent, you can learn exciting details about forestry. From the top, all toboggan lovers whiz down a specially designed 1.5 km route at up to 40 km/h.
HÖGSEE WINTER HIKING TRAILStarting from the midway station of the Alpkopfbahn, the prepared winter hiking trail suitable for prams leads around Högsee with wonderful panoramic views. On the circular route, you also pass the Familien-Lichter-Kapelle Hög, a little chapel.
MEDITATION TRAIL TO THE FAMILIEN-LICHTER-KAPELLE HÖGIf you want to take it easy away from the pistes, you can go for a relaxed walk on the new Meditation Trail to the Familien-Lichter-Kapelle Hög, a little chapel. Over a length of 450 metres, the Lord’s Prayer is made visual with seven sculptures by the Serfaus artist Walter File. Reachable via the midway station of the Alpkopfbahn.
EXTENSION TO THE SNOWMAKING FACILITIES This year, too, we invested in optimising the snowmaking facilities, to improve the guarantee of snow cover across the entire ski resort.
