ARRL Membership and Renewals

Just a reminder to current club members and new members, the DARC will accept new memberships to the American Radio Relay League as well as renewals of memberships. We can provide the forms. When you renew through the club, the club receives a club commission from the ARRL. We know that many members’ ARRL dues generally become due in August because of our past practices in hosting ARRL night at club meetings in August. Questions about this program may be directed to Arlene Schwartz, KE6GFI, [email protected].

June 2010 DX

By Mike Gauthier, K6ICS

June Propagation Outlook

10 Meters is showing a lot more activity with the longer daylight hours of late spring and early summer. There are also stronger signals and longer openings on 12-17 meters, follow the sun, 20 and 30 meters may have around-the-clock openings. Nighttime signals on 40-80 meters will be weaker and have greater background noise, but there is still DX to be worked. The increased QRN and weaker signals will make DXing on 160 me-ters very difficult until fall.

June DX
