DOUGIE CAMPBELL 2014 RESUME HISTORY & EXPERIENCE I co-founded Mindshare LA in 2006 as a monthly “TED meets Burning Man” event series in downtown Los Angeles. The series quickly established a large local following, celebrating it’s 50th consecutive salon in May 2012 with a full weekend celebration that included 20 artists, 15 presenters, 10 workshops and a variety of colorful performers. Over 150 events later, Mindshare is still gathering the brightest minds of Los Angeles together for regular events. Right from the start, I saw the power of technology to augment social interaction and so immediately began forming an interactive collective called Mindshare Labs which was eventually spun off and incorporated as Syyn Labs in 2009. Syyn Labs gained quick notoriety for its “This Too Shall Pass” Rube Goldberg Machine music video collaboration with OK Go which has received almost 45 million views to date. The creative collective has been featured in Fast Company, on CNN and on multiple TV shows. In late 2012, I left Syyn Labs to refocus my energy into experience design, evolving ProjectFresh LLC into a boutique experience consultancy. My other notable side projects have included traveling the world in a tuxedo for charity which led to co-founding The Tuxedo Tyrants which mixes charity with public improv. I also co-founded The SmArt Gallery which has held workshops and created pop-up gallery spaces which fall at the rich intersection where “Science meets Art”. I travel between Los Angeles and San Francisco to scout talent and to grow my consultancy work and feel at home in California, a place where off the wall ideas are not only welcomed but encouraged. HISTORY & EXPERIENCE

I co-founded Mindshare LA in 2006 as a monthly “TED meets Burning Man” event series in downtown Los Angeles. The series quickly established a large local following, celebrating it’s 50th consecutive salon in May 2012 with a full weekend celebration that included 20 artists, 15 presenters, 10 workshops and a variety of colorful performers. Founded in 2002, ProjectFresh LLC has firmly established its reputation as a boutique experiential consultancy in Los Angeles. Drawing inspira-tion by twisting together the unexpected, ProjectFresh has created a lineage of memorable projects and experiences.

Our core service is concept and strategy, however we do a lot more for our partners than just that. This short PDF will provide insight into what we offer as well as providing a case study which illustrates how we worked with one of our partners.

STAGE 1: DESIGN When we work with our partners, we begin at the end. What EFFECT do you want to have? It’s easy to create a fun, inspiring exciting experience. But WHY are you doing it? Not to say pure celebration isn’t a fine reason - it is just good to clarify expecta-tions at the beginning.

STAGE 2: DEPLOYAfter determining what we want the outcome to be, we work together to create an experience that meets our goals...and meet your budget. When it comes to things like events, the old expres-sion “How long is a piece of rope” comes to mind. We’ll work to reach your goals however we can.

STAGE 3: DEBRIEFOf course the experience is going to be great, but lets really prove it! From the beginning we build in ways to measure the success of our project together. So when it comes to determining whether the experience was successful or not you can depend on data, not just a slick pitch.

CASE STUDY “FROM WHENCE WE CAME”

DESIGN: CONCEPT & STRATEGY UCLA’s Physical Sciences Dept approached us to create an event that would help them achieve three goals:

1 Grow public perception of their outreach.2 Produce video for content marketing.3 Engage alumni and win their support.

We worked closely with them to design an event called “From Whence We Came...”

DEPLOY: EXPERIENCE & CURATIONWe transformed an off-campus venue for the one night event, which featured:Talks: Short faculty presentations, curated and coached by our content team & streamed online.Performers: Live musical acts, multiple entertainers and even a suspended circus performer!Interactivity: A microscope projection with specimens & a live data satellite feed.

DEBRIEF: HOW DID WE DO?50k+ impressions via social media, video streaming & direct email campaigns.97% said it met or exceeded their expecta-tions 99% would recommend future events to friends96% rated the content as good or excellent.
