Use these kits to test for nitrate levels in drinking water, well water, pond water, runoff, wastewater, environmental bodies of water, and more. Check to see if your water is within EPA compliance for safe, clean, water. The EPA Clean Water Act sets the limit for safe water at 10.0ppm Nitrate-N. In times of drought, use these kits to test for nitrate levels in feed and forage. Determine if your dry hay, corn stalks, or other drought-stricken crops are safe to feed to your livestock. Green forage kit is for samples where sap is available to squeeze out. Dry Forage Kits are used when samples are too dry to squeeze sap from.

Nitrate is routinely measured in a variety of sample types, including water, plant tissues, soil, and more. Nitrate testing is becoming ever more important as the use of nitrogen based fertilizers continues to rise. Nitrate Reductase (NaR) is a naturally occuring enzyme found in plants, yeasts, and some fungi. NECi has developed a nitrate analysis method based on this enzyme to replace outdated methods using cadmium, a toxic heavy metal. Enzymes are proteins, safe for human and enviromental exposure.
