DC Soybean Experience – 2010 to Present
• Initiated Syngenta DC Soybean Project in 2010 with a small group of
dedicated growers planting DC Soys following Processing Peas, Winter
Barley & Winter Wheat
• Documented production practices and crop development, collected
yield and weather data and captured field images during each season
• Primary focus was G X E X M, interactions within the system which
impacted success rate and profitability• Variety (maturity and plant type)
• Establishment methods
• Seeding rates
• Planting dates
• Yield enhancement techniques
• Grower co-operators: Matheson Farms, Vibrent Farms, Wrights Feed

Taller Variety Down shift maturity approximately 0.75 - 2.0 maturity zones,
depending on planting date. Maturity compression does not
over-ride heat units required
● Plant into moisture, plant ASAP and
no-till if possibleYields decline +1.0 bu/day after July 1st
● Planting Rate & Row WidthIncrease pops with later planting dates, some
conditions may require up to 50% increase over
normal planting rates (Eg+250,000 seeds/acre).
