The new range: its key strengths

It improves control over the cooling system, notably when starting up and during the engine warm-up phase.

The dual effect thermostat system is further strengthened by ensuring total separation between sea water and cooling liquid flows. This enables the engine’s temperatures to rise rapidly, while keeping it under control at all times. These improvements are very important for uses at very low or very high temperatures. It enables major space savings for the same power.

The best example is the Nanni N2.10. A twin cylinder cooled using a dual circuit temperature exchanger, which reaches a maximum running speed of only 3,000 rpm. It is just as compact as a 3,600 rpm direct cooled single cylinder. This improvement, benefiting the entire range, makes it possible to respond to growing demand on the market, which is constantly raising the power levels required for a given use. It offers a greater choice of options tailored to various uses.

Its compact design enables it to be fully tailored to the boat, with a wide range of options available: additional or integrated alternators, hydraulic pump connections, personalised accessory kits, etc. This offering also includes a large choice of straight or angled inverters.

NANNI DIESEL, THE BLUE ENGINES

ONE BOAT ONE ENGINE Nanni Diesel, a culturally European company, presents a range complete with marine motorization suitable for patrol boats as for sailing boats, fishing boats, large yachts and service boats. Nanni Diesel designs, develops, builds and distributes a complete range of marine engines from 10 HP to 1500 HP. Nanni Diesel works with three main technologies: classic online shaft, stern-drive and sail-drive stem. This last solution, with the propeller base mounted directly on the engine, has been a resounding success with boat yards, notably thanks to its compact design and its easy fitting and upkeep.

Priority – the environment

Nanni Diesel aims to be the cleanest marine engine designer. Constant innovation to achieve maximum respect for the environment is the company's on-going motto. The facility in La Teste now marinises the Kubota super E-3 series, which is based on a technology that optimises fuel consumption to limit emissions of pollutants to well below current standards.

Calculations show that the Nanni Diesel 6.240 TDI engine emits 20 times less CO than allowed under the BSO 2 standard, and 5 times less than the amount allowed by the European Directive 94-25 EEC; 2 times less HC and NOX than allowed by these same standards and directives, and 2.5 times less smoke than the Bosch index.

In partnership with Kubota, Nanni Diesel uses the E-TVCS three vortex combustion system, which shortens the ignition delay and improves the air/fuel mixture … … and an improved injection design that reduces combustion time. This technology results in substantially lower emissions of pollutants.

NANNI DIESEL IN OCEAN RACING

Since 2004 Nanni Diesel has invested in Figaro Bénéteau alone races with a double target:

increase its reputation in the sail world; support the development of this class in Italy and introduce a new way to race.

2005 was a wonderful year with the beginning of Pietro D’Alì. With plenty of good results on the Nanni Diesel Figaro Bénéteau, the skipper has been the “rookie” of the year for 2005. He is seen today as one of the best skippers in this class

2006… another year… another story… after an incredible start with a victory on Transatlantic AG2R and 2nd during the ‘Solo Medierranée’ Pietro D’Alì could escape to the Solitaire Afflelou le Figaro rules…. …but the Nanni Diesel skipper is not the man to give up«I want to come back and why not to achieve my dream to win this race. Indeed, this is the best training to make possible my project of a bigger boat for the Vendée Globe ».

In October 2005, simultaneously with its Figaro Bénéteau participation in the sailing, NANNI closed a contract, related to the motorization of said monotypes, with the Figaro Bénéteau Class and the Bénéteau shipyards – becoming effective in 2006. The motor, developed by Nanni Diesel, is the 3.75HE – Kubota based, 21 horsepower, 3 cylinder with a maximum R.P.M. of 3600. Some of its many characteristics: “…..its propulsive group, built in particular for the Figaro Bénéteau and in conformity with the requirements imposed by the class relative to weight, centre of gravity, consumption and adaptability of the additional alternator.”
