H ola amigos de WSS! Welcome to “probably the best wargaming magazine available”according to Meeples & Miniatures, the podcast website. Well I won’t pick a fight with themon that! Again we commemorate with a Dossier from James Clarke a momentous occasionin the First World War that took place 90 years ago. The German Kaiserschlacht offensive

of 1918 confirmed the legend of the stormtrooper. On the same theme with grateful thanks to RobBroom of Warhammer Historical we are privileged to have an exclusive preview of their “The GreatWar” series of games. We welcome Andy Sykes to the team with an article on WW2 middle eastcommandos. Guy Bowers continues his look at the Scoundrels – a subject for which he is showinggreat affinity! Paul, Wayne and Graham continue with our popular regular features. In London at the Olympia centre on the 2nd to 4th May there is a show focussing on family andmilitary history based on the popular TV programme – Who Do you Think you Are? LIVE. We will bepart of the Military History LIVE section and very happy to support this venture in reaching the widergeneral public with our hobby! Family history is one way in which other family members can relate tomilitary history on a personal level. So we are very pleased to support and encourage this. Who knowswhat heroes… Or even Scoundrels can be found in your family tree?Last but not least as always respect and a big thanks to David, Carlos, Raul and the hardworkingSpanish team.

A CALL TO ARMS AT THEALE 2008A nice friendly show at the start of theshow season set in the Reading area or-ganised by the WAR club. A nice selec-tion of traders, display and participationgames with a bring and buy to get rid ofany unwanted Christmas presents!. Aninteresting addition was a kindly ladymaking and displaying Warhammerstyle buildings which completely sold outat the show – they must have been toocheap! The show was also an excuse tohave a WAB Armies of Chivalry tourna-ment at a very relaxed pace. Gamerswith a parched throat would have disco-vered several friendly hostelries nearbythe hall.
