Welcome 2017 TriBranch Symposium!
The 2017 meeting is hosted by the Metro NY AALAS Branch in conjunction with Delaware Valley Branch of AALAS and New Jersey Branch of AALAS.
We are pleased to offer an exciting program this year!
I am delighted to announce our keynote speaker is Dr. David J Waters of the Gerald P. Murphy Foundation. The Foundation has a mission emphasizing Personalize Cancer Prevention Research with the ONE Health uniting human and veterinary medicine. Through a Pfizer sponsorship, Dr. Waters will be discussing “Envisioning the Future of Medicine: Science, Attitudes, and the Challenge of Optimizing Health in a World of Words”. This is a great topic and steers us to think about the 2017 theme - One HEALTH: Human, Education, Animal, Laboratory, Training, Husbandry.
In our animal science world, words are everything. But in a world that now really has no borders because of technology - we are all one. What we do in our animal rooms here in the US can be done in the Middle East tomorrow, thanks to the advent of shared list serves, international universities, etc.
In addition to our wonderful keynote speaker, we have a program full of presentations, workshops, and posters for all audiences.
This includes a veterinarian workshop “Translational Medicine and Science” and Dr. William Singleton’s workshop “Management Training? Yes Please” on Wednesday.
Tuesday and Wednesday, send your technicians for a track dedicated to preparing them for their AALAS certification. The Technician Fun Fair will also be held both days. Coupled with an amazing commitment by our vendors, the return of the 5K, and the chance to take the AALAS tests via paper and pen.
I hope you will consider joining us at the Tropicana on June 5, 6 and 7.
