Hello and thank you for considering Dorner Family Vineyards for your next venue site. Dorner Family Vineyards is a gorgeous landscaped garden venue located on 20 oak and pine covered acres in beautiful Cumming’s Valley in Tehachapi, CA. It is the perfect tranquil location for your wedding and reception celebration. Dorner Family Vineyard can host upwards of 250 people with ease in its 6000 sq. ft. outdoor garden venue. Mike and Michele Dorner, the owners of Dorner Family Vineyard, take great pride in the lovely garden setting they have created. The colorful flowerbeds, surrounding the gorgeous lush lawn, are home to hundreds of perennial plants. The garden venue is alive with color from early May until mid-October. Additionally, the venue consists of a raised 32′ x 32′ deck with dance floor, and beautiful hand-laid stone patios, as well as a stone patio bar and two catering areas. The five spacious event areas flow together seamlessly, so guests can easily mix and mingle. Birch and pines line the dry river bed; a popular location for photographs, while the pond houses the giant koi which have been hand raised for the past decade. The relaxing sounds of the waterfall and various water features can be heard throughout the garden. Hand laid stone walkways meander throughout the garden, while benches beckon you to sit awhile and enjoy the tranquility and peacefulness that is home to dozens of varieties of birds and butterflies. Your wedding ceremony can be held in the lower vineyard beneath the ancient oaks or in front of our historic ‘barn’. The choice is yours. Additionally, the vineyard and ‘barn’ are wonderful backdrops for your photographer to capture your special day. At night, thousands of tiny white lights in the gazebo and soft lighting above the deck and throughout the gardens add a romantic glow while your friends and family dine, dance or just stroll throughout the venue. Our goal at Dorner Family Vineyard is to make your event as stress free and relaxing as possible. We want you to feel like you are having your event at a family member’s home. Our policy is to schedule only one large event per weekend in order for us to focus 100% on you and your special day. We have no mandatory minimum required number of guests: we can accommodate an intimate gathering of 50 up to larger events with 250 guests, and everything in between. We believe that your special day should be just that: special and unique. We know that every bride has their own unique style and we wholeheartedly encourage that. We do not want your day to be a cookie-cutter event. We encourage our brides to let their own personalities shine through while planning their wedding day. We offer our services and rentals to compliment your individual dreams and whole-heartedly welcome your own individual touches. With extra set up, delivery, rehearsal and retrieval days included in your rental, you and your family have the flexibility to come and go from the venue, making deliveries, and retrieving your personal items at times that are convenient for you. Your special day should be relaxing and fun, not hurried & rushed. You should be able to have the day you have envi-sioned, including your own special touches. After all your hard work we want you to enjoy your day with family and friends, not be worried about cleaning up. At the end of the evening, leave the dressing areas and outside venue as is. Return the next morning to gather your belongings. A lot of time and love has gone into making this one of the most beautiful locations in Tehachapi and Kern County. Two Distinctive Ceremony Areas With two completely different ceremony areas, you can choose the one that is right for you. Your wedding ceremony can be held in the lower vineyard beneath the ancient oaks or in front of our historic ‘barn’ with rustic hay bale seating. The choice is yours. Additionally, the vineyard and ‘barn’ are won-derful backdrops for your photographer to capture your special day.

Vineyard We are the only vineyard in Tehachapi to offer weddings. You are welcome to hold your ceremony beneath the beautiful ancient oak with the vines as your back drop. This is an absolutely stunning location for your ceremony and pictures!!!

Reception Area The venue can host up to 250 guests for dinner amongst the garden, deck and patio areas. With the head tables and dance floor located on the deck, a few feet higher than the patio and lawn areas, everyone has a great view of the happy couple and evening’s activities.

Catering/Entertainment/Areas With an extra large patio area, your caterer has plenty of room for setting up and serving your guests. Caterers are also welcome to bring their bbq trailer and set up in the gravel parking area adjacent to the caterer’s patio.

Bar Area The 16’x16’ bar area has a built-in stone countertop, electrical outlets and a sink. There is plenty of room for ice chests, kegs and appetizer tables. It is the perfect location for mixing and mingling after the ceremony, before every-one is seated for dinner. A wine barrel rustic bar and wine barrel rustic gift table is also located in this area. This area is also perfect for a candy bar, sign in table and favors table. So many options. The choice is endless.

Walk in Cooler Our walk-in cooler is a huge hit with the families. Beginning the day before your event, you are welcome to store drinks, flowers, food etc in the cooler, thereby alleviating those last minute drop-offs and deliveries on the day of the event. On the day of, the cooler makes a great place to store ice or your cake until it is time to bring it out. A real plus for convenience and unique to our venue only. A big hit!

Bride’s Dressing Area Spend the day of your wedding relaxing and getting ready in the large dressing trailer, complete with private restroom. Bring in your hair and makeup team to spend the day with you and your attendants. Relax, have a snack, and enjoy a stroll around the gardens until it is time to get ready. The dressing room is a lovely location for those ‘getting ready’ pictures. Your photographer will be sure to appreciate this. Don’t worry about straightening up the dressing area: there will be time for that tomorrow. Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying your time with friends and family.

Groom’s Dressing Trailer Spend the afternoon relaxing with your groomsmen in your private dressing trailer , complete with an adjacent outdoor patio area with bbq. Leave the room as is. You can gather your rental bags and personal items tomorrow.

Photo Shoots Visit the gardens, ‘barn’ and vineyard in the months prior to your ceremony to have your engagement pictures taken. There is no additional charge if you are booked with us. For others who wish to take advantage of this unique opportunity there will be a nominal $50 fee for a two hour block of time.

Established Gardens The plantings at Dorner family Vineyard are over two decades old. Over 500 pines mix amongst the hundreds of native oaks on this twenty acre property. The flowerbeds surrounding the lawn and patio areas contain dozens of varieties of perennials ensuring constant color from May to October. Mature trees such as red maple, birch and aspen are planted throughout the property ensuring color and variety throughout the year.

Water Features The venue contains several lovely water features: a large pond with waterfall, stocked with mature koi fish, a set of double barrel fountains and a small fountain on our Tuscan Patio. The relaxing sounds of water surround you.

Evening in the Venue As the sun sets, the venue transforms to a magical location, as thousands of tiny lights illuminate the gardens, deck and patio areas. Mix, mingle and dance the evening away beneath the stars in this stunning garden venue. Just breathtaking!

Luxury Portable Restrooms These restrooms are ‘top of the line’: absolutely gorgeous inside. Don’t underestimate what a difference this luxury can make to your special day. In addition to the restrooms there is a ‘lounge’ area adja-cent to the restrooms with chairs. Nighttime lighting throughout the trees in this area transforms even the restroom facilities to ‘stunning’!

Signage The morning of your wedding we will place event signs, with your names on them, along with balloons at the end of Old Ranch Road. There are also signs on the venue roads directing the guests to and around the venue. This keeps everything flowing smoothly. It is also one less thing for you to worry about.

Oak Wine Barrels These are hugely popular with our families. We have an assortment of genuine oak wine barrels with hand milled slab tops that are placed at various locations through-out the venue. Place two barrels with an 8’ slab top next to the bar for non alcoholic drinks, use another setup like this for gifts or as part of your bar. Placed beneath the gazebo they make a striking cake set up. Place a single barrel for a sign in table. Use the bar top with two barrels for an appetizer bar. There are three barrels located at each ceremony location. They can be placed on either side of the ancient oak with flower arrangements atop them, in front of the barn for a sand ceremony or two placed at the entrance to the seating area. The possibilities are endless.

Wedding Swing What a fantastic photo op this is! This oak slab swing is hung from one of the ancient oaks located on the venue. Feel free to decorate.

Rental Items We have a wide variety of decorations for your wedding day. From ceremony doors to chalkboards and vases, you are sure to find something to put the finishing touch on your special day. We also have card boxes, drink dispensers, thumbprint signs, chandeliers and table decorations available for rent. Please check our rental pdf on our website for prices and quantities available.
