Solid timber combines exceptional durability, and stunning beauty. A timeless feature which can add significantly to the interior of many buildings of distinction both new and old. We utilise FSC Scotts Pine and Noble Oak in our designs and can provide other suitable timber species upon request. The wood is finished with transparent lacquers highlighting the growth structure of the timber or with covering paints in accordance with the RAL or NCS colour palettes. Alternative Artisan finishes where wax is skilfully hand applied are available and highly recommended.

Natural veneer

Natural Veneer is made of thin layers of natural wood which are combined in a bundle in the order they were originally sliced. Due to this technique, the wood ring pattern retains its continuity and even consistent shade. Veneer is a great alter-native to solid wood. Typically veneer is either Quarter-cut achieving a straight grain appearance or Crown-cut achieving more grain figure/feature. We utilise natural Oak and Walnut veneer. The veneer is then stained and clear lacquered in a wide range of colour options or in opaque paints in accordance with the RAL or NCS colour palettes.

Modified veneerModified veneer is an alternative to natural veneer. The wood is peeled into very thin sheets, dyed for consistent colour, locking in the pigment for ultimate UV protection and glued into blocks, from which thin veneer layers are then sliced with the desired feature. During this process a pattern resembling wood structure is created. Modified veneer guarantees even shade and perfect visibility of wood ring structure, elimi-nating the inconsistencies of nature. Due to technological modification, every sheet looks identical and is free of defects. The final effect is achieved by applying clear lacquer to the door face.

Laminate ECO laminates are a popular way of fi nishing doors. In our portfolio there are 5 types of laminates: CPL/HPL, PVC, Mikrofl ex, Lamisoft and Decor with different wear parameters and resistance. Therefore, we are able to produce doors for various building types and door locations. Thicker lami-nate, because of its resistance, is an excellent choice in locations with high traffi c, where door leaves are exposed to heavy use e.g. in public utility buildings, schools and hospitals. For the domestic / residential market it is possible to utilise a thinner laminate, which can also imitate natural timber veneer very well.

Laminates CPL / HPL – laminate of a layered structure ma-king it more durable and resistant to wear. Particularly recom-mended for use in public utility buildings. Plain solid colour or wood grain effect laminates can be selected.

PVC laminate in smooth or embossed version gives a noti-ceable texture to the fi nished product. The fi rst layer is PVC laminate, the outer layer is enriched with an overprinted sur-face creating a realistic textured appearance of the desired wood species.

Lamisoft laminate – the fi rst layer is a synthetic base material, and the outer layer is enriched with an overprinted surface featuring optical and tangible properties close to natural wood. The laminate resembles a 3D laminate structure.

(S) – smooth surface of laminate with visible timber structure (red oak, noble oak, antique oak, chocolate oak)(T) – visible timber structure, with the timber grain structure evident to the touch (vanilla oak, whitewashed silver oak, whitewashed honey oak, whitewashed swamp oak

MIKROFLEX laminate – the base consists of paper with enhan-ced thickness and hardness. The outer layer of the laminate is enriched with an overprinted surface featuring a realistic texture of a given wood type. Also available in solid white colour.

DECOR laminate – the base consists of a thin paper, the outer layer of the laminate is enriched with overprinted surface fe-aturing a realistic texture of a given wood type. Also available in solid white colour.

Door edge options

Over-rebated doorsOver-rebated doors, increasing the surface in contact with the door fra-me. This improves privacy and makes the task of installing a perfectly fitting door very easy due to the concealed gap and via the adjustable hinges. The characteristic protruding door leaf edge is visible when the door is closed.

Square edged doors have a smooth edge without the rebate. The door leaf creates a single solid surface; it is fully aligned with the door frame. In square edged door leaves, either traditional butt-hinges or concealed hinges are used.

Stolbud Koronea are an authorised manufacturer of fi re doors to BS476: part 22 in accordance with Falcon Strebord global assessments for FD30 & FD60.
