Proverbs 14:8-12 The wisdom of the
prudent is to understand his way, But
the folly of fools is deceit. (9) Fools
mock at sin, But among the upright
there is favor. (10) The heart knows its
own bitterness, And a stranger does
not share its joy. (11) The house of the
wicked will be overthrown, But the tent
of the upright will flourish. (12) There is
a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
DON’T BE FOOLED
A. Have you ever been fooled, misled, or deceived?
B. You can fool all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.
C. Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
D. As I prepared this sermon, I thought it seemed more appropriate for Sunday AM
I. SATAN CAN
FOOL YOU! HE
IS ALIVE AND
WELL TODAY.
I. SATAN CAN FOOL YOU!
A. Genesis 3:13 And the LORD God said to
the woman, "What is this you have done?"
The woman said, "The serpent deceived
me, and I ate."
B. 2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest
somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by
his craftiness, so your minds may be
corrupted from the simplicity that is in
Christ.
I. SATAN CAN FOOL YOU!
C. 1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, (2) speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,
D. Revelation 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
E. James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
II. OTHERS CAN
FOOL YOU! SATAN
CAN WORK
THROUGH THOSE
AROUND YOU.
II. OTHERS CAN FOOL YOU! A.Mark 13:5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say:
"Take heed that no one deceives you.
B.2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
C.Ephesians 5:3-7 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; (4) neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. (5) For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. (6) Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. (7) Therefore do not be partakers with them.
II. OTHERS CAN FOOL YOU!
D. 1 John 3:7-9 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. (8) He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. (9) Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
E. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
III. YOU CAN
FOOL YOURSELF!
SATAN CAN
CONVINCE YOU
THAT WRONG IS
RIGHT.
III. YOU CAN FOOL YOURSELF!
A. 1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits."
B. 1 Corinthians 3:18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.
C. Galatians 6:7-8 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. (8) For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
III. YOU CAN FOOL YOURSELF!
D. James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and
not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
E. James 1:26 If anyone among you thinks he
is religious, and does not bridle his tongue
but deceives his own heart, this one's
religion is useless.
F. Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know the way of
man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.
DON’T BE FOOLED
A. Trust only in God and His Word. 2 Timothy 3:13-17 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. (14) But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, (15) and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (16) All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, (17) that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
DON’T BE FOOLED
A. If we trust in Satan, ourselves or others -
We will be deceived.
B. Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without
covetousness; be content with such things
as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
C. 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin,
we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not
in us.
