€15.6 billion ($16.98 billion) to help partner countries in addressing the immediate health crisis and resulting humanitarian needs, strengthening partner countries' health, water and sanitation systems and their research and preparedness capacities to deal with the pandemic, as well as in mitigating the socioeconomic impact. Of this, €3.25 billion ($3.5 billion) for Africa; €2.1 billion ($2.3 billion) for the South; and €962 million ($1 billion) for the Eastern Partner countries; €800 million ($871 million) for the Western Balkans and Turkey (as of 08/04/2020). €1.42 billion ($1.5 billion) in guarantees for Africa and the neighbourhood from the European Fund for Sustainable Development (EFSD). EU will support Asia and the Pacific with €1.22 billion ($1.3 billion), another €291 million ($316 million) for the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific region, €918 million ($999 million) to support our partners in Latin America and the Caribbean and €111 million ($121 million) to support Overseas Countries and Territories.

As of 09/04/2020, the EIB announced a comprehensive response to the coronavirus pandemic outside the EU that will provide up to €5.2 bn in the coming months. This financing is part of the Team Europe response and supported by guarantees from the EU budget. It will both strengthen urgent health investment and accelerate long-standing support for private sector investment that reflects financing needs in more than 100 countries around the world.
