• After Leaving Iwo Jima the 5th Division returned to Hawaii to reorganize and training for the invasion of Japan.

• The 5th Division was part of the occupation of Japan assigned to the Naval base at Sasebo.

• Don was discharged from the Marine Corps on 12 Jan. 1946 at Great Lakes, Mi.

• Don was a Pastor for 46 years. His last church was in Tucson
