Dominion is looking for dynamic team players for Laborer positions at our Possum Point Power Station, a four unit power generation plant (two natural gas fired, one oil fired, and one a dual fired combined cycle unit), located in Prince William County, approximately 30 miles south of Washington, D.C., in the town of Dumfries, Virginia (conveniently located just off of Interstate 95). Being a Laborer is the first step in a promotional series for many other positions at the station such as Operator Trainee, Mechanic Trainee and Electrician Trainee. The Laborer will perform housekeeping and maintenance duties at the power station in all types of weather conditions. This includes: 1) General maintenance and clean up, including scrubbing/waxing floors; 2) Washing the boiler area before unit outages with a fire hose (approximately 300 PSI); 3) Oil spill clean-up; 4) Lawn maintenance duties which include mowing grass, operating a weed eater, and assisting with snow removal. This position has a starting pay rate of $14.51 per hour. This position will not provide paid relocation assistance. Preferences: 1) Dominion is seeking United States active military and military veterans who meet the qualifications; 2) Candidates who have demonstrated leadership experience; 3) Candidates with industrial experience Requirements: 1) An aptitude for and desire to perform mechanical work; 2) The ability to assist all departments in areas of physical labor duties and ability to lift and carry 70 pounds or more; 3) The ability to work occasional planned and emergency overtime; 4) Must possess a current, valid Driver's License; 5) Ability to operate heavy equipment such as a Bobcat and forklift; 6) Must have basic computer skills; 7) Must be able to qualify to use a respirator; 8) Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
