Being 36 and weighing in at only 37pounds may not sound like your averagesize for a super hero, but for those whoknew Dominic Osorio, aka TheDominator, he was everything a heroshould be and more. Shortly after his 5thbirthday, Dominic was diagnosed with alow grade Glioma. He beganchemotherapy and radiation therapy inMay 2008, which meant he had to lie still- a hard task for little boys. How was heable to accomplish this?

Like most young boys, Dominic lovedsuper heroes. Dominics grandmother had

given him the nickname, The Dominatoron her daily visits to help him with histherapy. Dominics mother and nursesmade a comic book starring a super herocharacter named The Dominator. In thestory, the little boy was able to turn intoThe Dominator and defeat the evilmegazoid in his head by lying completelystill in a huge rotating radiation chamberthat shot out bright red laser beams.Acting as the The Dominator, Dominicwas able to lie still for every treatmentthrough February 2009.

Life after treatment was very different, asDominic was partially paralyzed on hisright side. However, although he could nolonger tie his shoes, ride his bike or evenplay his beloved video games, Dominicalways had a smile on his face. Hiscourage and strength was an inspiration topeople of all ages.

In June 2009, Dominic developed yetanother tumor, and slipped into a coma inSeptember. On November 13, 2009,Dominic earned his angel wings at age 7.
