Dolch List Sight Words

(Pre-Pimer Words: I, my, see, go)

Activities:

1. Sight Words Reader 1

Print out the reader for sight words ‘I’ and ‘my’. (personalized for your child: girl or boy)

Place the pages in order and staple them into a book.

Read the sight words reader with your child.

Get your child to colour the pictures if he/she is interested.

Read and re-read. Have fun!

2. Sight Words Reader 2

Print out the reader for sight words ‘see’ and ‘go’.

Place the pages in order and staple them into a book.

Read the sight words reader with your child.

3. Write Sight Words

Child to write sight words by tracing along the dotted lines of the letters.

Child to read the sight words as he/she writes them.

4. Spot Sight Words

Spot the sight words and colour the boxes.

5. Spot and Read Sight Words

Read the sentences.

Spot the sight words and highlight them with a highlighter, crayon, marker or colour pencil.

6. Spell Sight Words

Print and cut out the letter on cardstock or laminate for better quality.

Child to spell each sight word by placing the letters correctly onto the boxes.

Read the sentences.



7. Cloze Passage 1

Print and cut out the words.

Read the passage with your child.

Child to choose the correct word card to place onto each blank.

Read the completed passage.

Read the passage with child.

Game 1: Concentration

Place all cards face down on the floor.

Child to open 2 cards at a time.

If both cards show the same words, child gets to keep the cards.

Game 2: Making Sentences

Place all cards in a stack (face down).

Child to pick one card from the stack.

Child to read the word.

Child to make a sentence with the word.
