GrammarQuotation Marks and Punctuation
“Who knows where most of our energy comes from?” the teacher asked.
The quotation marks “ ” are used in dialogue to set off the words of a speaker and in the titles of short works.
In dialogue, punctuation goes inside the quotation marks. Write a couple of sentences using a conversation with
someone. Exchange the sentences with a partner to identify your punctuation.
