DOES MONEY BUY HAPPINESS?

Scrooge is a perfect example of the idea that money does not buy

happiness. He has as much as anyone could want. However, he

isn’t happy. People in the street think he hasn’t got feelings because

he never shows them. He’s very mean and cruel because he doesn’t

share anything with anyone and wants everybody to be like him.

When a man came into the shop asking for money for the poor he

just slammed the door on him. He thinks Christmas is humbug, but

he doesn’t know it is a nice time to spend with family and other

people. The problem is that Scrooge doesn’t have a family or friends

to make him happy. On the other hand, his employer Bob Cratchit

and his nephew Fred are both very happy. Although Bob’s family is

poor, they see the life in a different way. They think that the best

things in life are family and

friends. When he visited Fred’s

house with the ghost of

Christmas Present, he laughed

and enjoyed watching them

having fun, he felt sad when he

realized that he didn’t have any

friends to have fun with. If he

had kept acting like that, he

would have died alone, as he

saw. He might have thought

about it because he finally

decided to change his life.

I think family doesn’t buy

happiness because the best things in life aren’t things. You can’t buy

a family or friends. Why do you want to have a lot of money if you

don’t have someone to spend it with? It’s a good idea to share it with

people that need it more than you and see how you have helped

them to be happy.
