Transcript of Doerr Realty : San antonio foreclosures
I am a San Antonio Native and can trace my roots as far back as the Alamo. I have been a Realtor® in San Antonio, Texas for 21 years and I became a Broker in 2008 and started a International Real Estate Brokerage Firm called Doerr Realty in January of 2009. I also have over 13 years experience as an International Consultant for residential and real estate development projects in Mexico and throughout Central America.
I specialize in residential new and pre-owned homes for San Antonio and surrounding cities and communities. I am experienced with short sales and foreclosures and have co-authored a book on short sales called “Should I Short Sale My Home? A Homeowners Guide On How To Survive The Worst Real Estate Market In History.”
I am a National Association of Realtors(NAR) GREEN Designee and a member of the NAR Green Resource Council. I am also a “Real Estate Pro” for the US Green Builders Council’s Green Home Guide where I periodically answer questions as a panel expert for the guide.

Foreclosures
Foreclosures
Buying a home in foreclosure can be a great investment. The key is finding the right home, at the right time and for the right terms. We
have included some information about foreclosures.
What is a Foreclosure?
These days most new homeowners purchase their homes with a mortgage. If the borrower faces a hardship and is no longer able to
make the payments, a home may go into foreclosure. According to the Wall Street Journal the number of foreclosures is growing daily. There
are approximately 4.8 million homes in the United States and over 78,000 in San Antonio that are currently in different stages of
foreclosure.
Buying a Pre-Foreclosure Home
Ideally, you want to find a home that is in the first stage of foreclosure known as the pre-foreclosure stage. This is when the owners have
missed a few payments and the loan has gone into a delinquent state. At that point, the homeowner will get a notice of default letter. After
that, the homeowner will have a certain amount of time to respond. This can be a very problematic time for the homeowner.
Global PropertiesBuying real estate can be a risky proposition, especially when buying property in a foreign country.
You might be asking yourself: What are the laws? What about unstable governments? Will I really own title to this property? How do I know I’m getting a good deal? Whom do I trust to help me make the right decisions? These are just a few of the many questions you will have when contemplating buying a second home or vacation property in a foreign country. For peace of mind, hire a Realtor® you can trust that is licensed, a member of the National Association of Realtors & observes a code of conduct and ethics by the NAR and the ICREA.
