    WEMCO HMS Heavy Media Separation

    WEMCO Drum Separator

    The WEMCO Drum Heavy Media Separator

    (HMS) is probably the world's best known

    processor for HMS separation of coal and minerals

    in the size range 250 mm (10" to 6 mm (1/4").

    The drum separator combines high efficiency with

    the unique feature that all mechanical drive parts

    are external to the drum - there are no buckets,

    chains, or other moving parts within the processor.

    This reduces significantly the wear caused by

    abrasive media solids, minimizes replacement

    costs and greatly simplifies maintenance. Drumsare available in sizes from laboratory scale to 18

    diameter 26' long in two or three product separation

    format; in capacities, for coal, up to 600 tonnes

    per hour.

    process coal and minerals in the size

    range 50 mm (2") to 0.5 mm (28 mesh).

    Cyclones are available are available in

    sizes from 350 mm (14") to 750 mm

    (30") diameter and are constructed out

    of wear-resistant hard metals in

    segments, for ease of replacement.

    Modular, Relocatable and Mobile Plant Systems

    WEMCO Drum Plants

    Over 750 complete plants have been supplied

    in capacities from 25 tph to 300 tph.

    Plants can be custom designed in modular or

    mobile format in suit any site or client

    preference. Our services include design, supply

    and construction in minimum delivery times.

    HMS Cyclone modules are offered in

    capacities from 50 tph to 200 tph. Multiple

    Completing the Circuit

    The coal preparation circuit can be completed

    by Dorr-Oliver Eimco equipment and modular

    systems, such as froth flotation and vacuum

    filtration of fine coal, or effluent dewateringand clarification using Hi-rate or conventional

    Thickeners and EIMCO Belt Presses.

    Drum PlantAn 8 x 8 modular WEMCO Drum plant,

    consisting of feed conveyor, prewet screen,

    HMS Drum, drain and rinse screen, medium

    circulation and recovery system, and fines

    treatment plant using WEMCO Spiral

    Classifier and EIMCO Delta-Stak Clarifier.

    This plant, which has a feed capacity of 100

    tph, was designed, supplied and constructed

    in just 12 weeks from date of order. Plants

    are designed to be pre-assembled in modules

    to minimize on-site construction and simplify

    relocation if necessary.

    Free Standing buildings of portal frame

    construction can also be supplied to house

    plants.

    Cyclone Plant

    This 200 tph twin HM Cyclone Plant consists

    of feed and product conveyors, desliming

    screen, twin 660 mm HM Cyclones, drain andrinse screen, product dewatering by centrifuge

    and full medium circulation and recovery

    system. The Plant was designed, supplied and

    constructed in 15 weeks from date of order.
