Monday Sound: j focus words:

jam, jetActivities:1. Watch the video2. Pretend to jump in jam, say j,j,j,j,j,j as you jump.3. Watch again, pause on the words, read the words - jam, jet using your robot arms eg: j-a-m, jam.4. Write j 5 times, can you spell jam, jet?Challenge: think of other words beginning with j - can you read or spell them? - jug, jog etc.

Tuesday Sound: v focus words:

van, vetActivities:1. Watch the video2. Pretend to drive a van and say v,v,v,v,3. Watch again; pause on the words, read the words vet, van using your robot arms eg: v-e-t, vet.4. Write v 5 times, can you spell vet, van?Challenge: Read and answer the question, Can a vet fix a jet? (adult to write the question in advance)

Wednesday Sound: w focus words:

wig, wetActivities:1. Watch the video2. Pretend to put a wig on your head and say w,w,w,w.3. Watch again, pause on the words, read the words wig, wet using your robot arms e.g. w-i-g, wig. Can you read the sentence, The wig is wet?4. Write w 5 times. Can you spell wig, wet?Challenge: Write a sentence using one of these words -wig, wet, web, e.g. I can see a web, I can see a wig, The web is wet.

ThursdaySound: x Focus words:

fox, boxActivities:1. Watch the video2. Pretend to jump on a box and say x,x,x,x,x,.3. Watch again, pause on the words, talk about the x sound being at the end of the words, read fox, box, using your robot arms f-o-x, fox.4. Write x 5 times. Can you spell fox, box?Challenge: write the sentence. The fox in on the box and draw a picture. Friday Sounds: J, V, W, XRecap all.

Focus words: jam, jet, vet, van, wig, wet, fox, box

Activities:1. Watch all the videos or just the ones of the sounds you’re not confident with, again.2. Make flashcards of the sounds/print off from letter and sounds website (see above) say the sounds, write them, make them with sticks, pasta, etc.3. Make a matching game - write all the words on pieces of paper/card, find pairs of words that start/finish with the same sound.
