DOCUMENT VERIFICATION AND ADMISSION NOTICE

It is notified that the following applicants of Undergraduate Admission-2018 in the School of Engineering at

Kathmandu University are selected for document verification and admission in the programs as indicated

below.

Verification and Admission List (2nd List)

8. BE in Mechanical Engineering (Design and Manufacturing)

9. BE in Mechanical Engineering (Energy Technology)

10. BE in Mechanical Engineering (Hydropower)

11. BE in Geomatics Engineering

Selected applicants are required to contact concerned department for document verification and admission

from July 16, 2018 to July 20, 2018 between 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Procedure for Document Verification and Admission (Candidates are required to strictly follow the

given instructions):

1. Appear in person at the concerned department with original documents (and with clear copies of

them) and original admit card of KUCAT (indicating PCM exam taken).

2. Submit the concerned department, transcript (or mark sheets) of +2 or equivalent (A level, IB

level). The candidate should have passed +2 with minimum 50% aggregate marks and minimum

50% PCM /PMCs (for Geomatics Engineering, Computer Engineering and Bachelor in

Architecture) and PCM (for all other engineering programs). Students who have completed +2

in Biology stream must have taken additional Mathematics course and passed the exams with

cumulative PCM of 50%.

OR

Minimum 2.4 GPA in aggregate and minimum C+ in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM)

or Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science (PMCs) and minimum C in other subjects for

Geomatics Engineering, Computer Engineering and Bachelor in Architecture. Minimum 2.4

GPA in aggregate and minimum C+ in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and minimum

C in other subjects for all other engineering programs.

These are absolutely needed for the offer to be valid along with 3 recent photos (PP-size). Other

required documents are: copy of SLC mark sheet, copy of character certificate(s) clearly indicating

date of birth and parent name, copy of citizenship, and original migration.

3. Pay the required fees to Kathmandu University’s Account at any branch of the following banks:

Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIBL): A/C No.: 00501030250009

Machhapuchchhre Bank Ltd Account No.: 2022524044147028

Fee at the time of admission for All Engineering Programs is NRs. 138,000 (one hundred thirty-

eight thousand rupees only); Please do not pay the fees before the document verification and

keep a photo copy of payment slip with you.

4. Submit one copy of payment voucher to the department and complete the admission and

registration forms. Duly get the declaration signed by yourself and guardian. Keep your copy of

voucher safe. Get the copy of document verification and fee payment certification from the

department.

NOTES:

In the event that erroneous information or invalid documents have been provided by the

applicant, intentionally or otherwise, the applicant will be rejected and admission offer will be

invalidated.

Request for the extension of the deadline will not be considered.

Unfilled seats, if any, will be offered to the alternative candidates. Please follow the KU website

for subsequent verification and admission lists.

The bank at KU will be open till 3:00 PM on working days except Friday.

Candidates willing to withdraw from the programs, with 70% admission fee (50% of caution money

and 70% of rest of the fees) refund after admission, are required to submit the withdrawal admission

with consent of guardian by August 13, 2018, 03:00 PM; Candidates submitting the withdrawal

request after 13 August until 27 August 2018, 03:00 PM will be entitled to get only 30%

admission fee refund (50% of caution money and 30% of rest of the fees). Candidates submitting

withdrawal request after this date will not be entitled to get any refund.
