The organization will function in a similar way to the Engineering Ambassadors. ED will assist the WCOE in recruiting students for study abroad programs, attracting foreign students to Texas Tech, providing a community for international students and building strong international connections. ED will be involved in recruiting events, e.g. Engineering Kick Off and Study Abroad Fair. ED, among other services to the WCOE and its students, will provide study abroad seminars. Wherever the words “engineering” and “international” meet, ED will be there. Who We Are Looking For We are looking for engineering students who have relevant international experience, e.g. study abroad, and who are willing to help, orient and recruit other WCOE students who are required to go overseas. To become an ED, you must be passionate about sharing with your peers the benefits and experiences you gained while studying abroad and how the experiences positively impacted your life and career. ED are expected to be presentable and loyal to the WCOE and TTU at all times. If you: always said that studying abroad was one of the best experiences in your life; have leadership and communication skills; have contacts overseas; then, you must be wanting to become an Engineering Diplomat. Perks of Joining ! $750 scholarship each semester ! International contacts ! Polo shirt ! Special gifts throughout the semester Qualifications ! Currently enrolled in the Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering ! Overall GPA of at least 3.0 ! Previous and relevant international experience ! At the time your application is received, you must have completed at least one long semester as an undergraduate student in the Whitacre College of Engineering !     Application

    The application consists of your rsum and an essay. Your rsum and essay must be in PDF format. Your rsum must be presentable and preferably one-page.

    Please write a one to two page essay addressing the following questions:

    ! Describe your international experience and how it affected you ! Explain why you are qualified to be an Engineering Diplomat ! To conclude your essay, write a short paragraph highlighting something unique about you How to Apply
