The TARDIS. A damp DOCTOR walks into the console room, summoned byNYSSA from his work adjusting the gravity in the bathroom. Theyvelanded, but Nyssa is unsure where or when. Taking over at the console,the Doctor suggests the Trakenite needs to stand on her own two feet alittle moreVenturing outside, they find themselves in the middle of a CARNIVAL. Witha mountain silhouetted in the distance, the city jumps to a BRAZILIANSAMBA, and the Doctor is pressed to join the revelry, while Nyssa issidelined.

Stealing a carnival mask to escape, he finds Nyssa. The two hide in a darkwarehouse filled to the ceiling with furniture. A series of frighteningMECHANICAL GROANS tell them theyre not alone. Discovered by ROLLY,a towering WAREHOUSE ROBOT in a SEQUINNED COSTUME the

trespassers discover the cross-dressing automaton is a frustrated dancerdesperate to join the carnival.

Beyond the warehouse sprawls a vast PRODUCTION FLOOR. OCTOPUS-LIKE CREATURES work on carving furniture. The Doctor recognises manyof the pieces from the TARDIS is this where its furniture is made? Nyssais concerned when one of the workers MARINER - confirms the furnitureas offerings and the appalling conditions in the factory.

The REVELLERS swarm the warehouse. The Doctor and Nyssa are forcedto join the never-ending carnival. Nyssa is on the verge of collapse, butwhen the doctor notices the abundance of circular shapes in the

architecture of the city he realises where they are. He PULLS DOWN theirsurroundings like wallpaper, revealing a dirty, stone version of the TARDISWALLS behind. The TARDIS has landed inside itself!

As the confused revellers scatter, the Doctor asks Mariner to take them towhere the offerings are left. They climb the MOUNTAIN, passing aforeboding looking lake that the Doctor recognises as the TARDISbathroom on the way. The CARNIVAL is in pursuit, but they and theMariner hang back, scared, as the Doctor, Nyssa and Rolly arrive at thesummit.

Incongruous in the surroundings of the snow-capped plateau they find astately OAK DESK and CHAIR complete with stationary set. Nyssadiscovers a set of diaries in the drawers and realises this is the TARDISconsole - everything theyve seen has been the TARDISs desperateattempts to woo a master whos never returned.

ROBOT:SUMMARATION>WAREHOUSE IS JUST JOB. DISCO IS FOREVER.

DOCTOR:Can you find us a door?

ROBOT:ASSERTION>PREPARE TO BE AMAZED.

(FX: A METAL FIST SMASHES A HOLE IN THE WALL)

NYSSA (COUGHING):That's quite a door.

DOCTOR:Well, he's got to get through it too

(FX: MACHINERY)

NYSSA:It looks like a factory? What are those things?

DOCTOR:

They look rather angry. Shall we say hello?
