TESCO ‘BAGS OF HELP’We are very excited that Southwood has been shortlisted by Tesco as a school they are awarding a grant to, to help us make our trim trail fit for use when the ground is wet
There are voting bins at the checkouts of all Tescos stores in Milton Keynes (including the Tesco Express stores). If you are popping in for a bit of shopping, please put a token in our section. There are 3 grants available and we’d love to get the top grant if possible. We are up
against some formidable opposition so every token will really help!
Please spread the word, tell your friends and relatives, and ask them to pop in a token for us!

STAFFINGThis term we are saying a
temporary goodbye to Miss Harrison (Dragonflies).
Miss Harrison is taking maternity leave, with her baby due just before
Christmas. We all wish her the best of luck with her new arrival and look forward to seeing her
back in school after her maternity leave. Miss Clifford will be
Dragonflies’ new class teacher. Additionally, we are saying
goodbye to Miss Christophers who is leaving to take up another
teaching post in Milton Keynes. We would like to thank Miss
Christophers for her contribution to the school and wish her well in her
new position. Miss Howe will be Robins’ new class teacher.
Finally, we are also saying farewell to Mrs Djan who has been working with us in Year 4. Mrs Djan will be taking up her next placement, in an
infant school, as part of her teaching qualification. Again, we’d like to thank Mrs Djan for her time with us and wish her the very best
in her future teaching career.

our last day of term, Friday 16 th December .
We are inviting children to wear their winter jumpers instead of school uniform for the day for a donation of £1,
which will raise much needed funds to help save children’s lives.
Data Collection SheetsWe have been sending home Data Collection sheets for your child this term. We require a current address and
up to date telephone numbers for your child.
It is imperative that we hold correct telephone numbers for your child. If we are unable to contact you in the event of an emergency, decisions that need to be made about your child will be deferred to the Headteacher. If your details have changed, or if you have not returned the form and you know that the school does not have the correct information, please let us know. We also require the name and address of the Medical Centre that
your child is registered with.
Lunch Orders – Deadline 9am on Tuesdays If you would like to order hot lunches, please make sure that your order has been placed
with the school reception by 9am on the Tuesday of the week before the meals are required. If the order and money has not been received by this time, we will be unable to
order a meal for your child. For your child to receive hot lunches at the start of next term, an order must be placed by Tuesday 13 th December at 9am .
LOST PROPERTYA reminder to come and have a look through lost property before half term. Unclaimed
items will be donated to charity.
Lost PropertyAs always, we have a lot of lost property around the school. When the clothing is named, we can return it to the child. However, we have been finding lots of lovely coats and new sweatshirts/fleeces that have not been named. We also have a lot of unnamed PE kit.
Please make sure that every item of clothing is labelled with your child’s name.
At the end of this term, we will be donating any unclaimed lost property to the Salvation Army. If you are missing anything in your household, please do come and have a look for it in our lost property, next to reception, before the end of term.
