Thursday 8th September 2016 Word of the Month - Hope
Dear Parents and Carers,
HeadteacherMrs. L. CullodenDeputy HeadteacherMr. A. DigbyAssistant HeadteacherMrs .D. Fulk
Welcome to our new term! We have had a great start and the school feels very positive and happy! We have named all of the classes after animals as this allows the teachers to create a class mascot and identity with the children. We have welcomed Mr. Thompson and Mrs. Fordham into Y6, Miss Kelly to Y5 with the newly married Mrs. Everitt nea Leah. (Many congratulations!) Mrs. Lastra Jackson joins Y4 and Mrs. Wood supports the Y2 team as learning support.Next week the teachers will send home the first of six curriculum letters informing you of the lessons and the learning that the children are enjoying this half term. These can also be found on our website.
The school is receiving TLC in terms of refurbishments. We have parts newly carpeted and decorated and we plan to continue the improvements. Many thanks go to our parent group who have started tidying the garden areas, painting the walls and weeding and smartening. We really appreciate it! Please feel free to come any time!

The next AGM for Carfield Friends is at school on 6th
October in the evening. More details to follow.
Please come along. It is a very friendly group and a great
way to be part of the school community. The setting up and
tidying away of events always sounds like a chore but is
always good fun with lots of laughs.
Plus money is raised for the school which is always used
well. Lately the playgrounds have had additional play
equipment.
Work on the Middle Playground for an activity playground
starts in February.
